Dabo Swinney Press conference with Mario & DJ… Wow

That is the epitome of a great coach creating a great culture. His own words, it’s not just about winning championships and football games…. it’s about winning in life!!!
I’ve never watched the full press conference, but I could tell Dabo and this team have been through so much this season. There was a passion to his voice and meaning to the words. Football is just a game, but within that game comes the discipline and structure to help cultivate a great human being off the football field.
All the criticisms just feed into Dabo and his energy to overcome and succeed. Not one time this year did he flinch or shy away from any criticism. The entire team heard the talk that Clemson is not very good and removed from elite status…I assure you that the 25+ players missing from this team would have created a different season outcome!! But, they were out and not able to compete and others filled in those positions as best they could. As Dabo stated, sometimes you just simply aren’t “good enough” on certain days. Dabo and his new coordinators will go to work and fill the gaps left by portal/graduation and grind it out until 2022 season gets here.
As tough as this season was, I’m very proud of how this team just kept fighting. At 4-3 and out of top 25 for first time in 10 years maybe (not sure how long) but they finished out 6-0 and Cheez-It Bowl Champions!!!
I love Clemson football but I love Coach Dabo Swinney just as much.
Those who call Coach Swinney a clown, or cheerleader, well they simply aren’t worth any recognition. Love your team, love your players, teach them, guide them, help them, educate them, that’s what Coach Swinney is all about.
Go Tigers ?????? Thanks to all the players, coaches, staff, families that help Clemson be the best they can be on and off the field.

Agree. It was one of the more satisfying wins I have seen in a long time. The team didn't limp into that game. They took a bunch of gut punches during the year, but got up and fought back to win the season. Very, very satisfying - similar to the Champs bowl when Cole Stout had such a good game.

Yes, very similar to 2014 season. I think Dabo mentioned how the 2014/2021 seasons were very much the same.
I don’t remember that many injuries to that team, but I do remember overcoming and winning with a QB in Stoudt that struggled much like DJ…. Until Oklahoma when he showed out ????. 40-0 and Sooners scored a TD with a couple minutes left to spoil the shutout. Great end to that season as well

This season may have been Dabo's best coaching job to date. His leadership kept the team together.

I would probably agree. Certainly has not had to overcome so much in any year before 2021.

Not much you can add to what 1975 spelled out... And MFO. If you can get through the presser without confetti, not sure you're getting it. Unless you're on his staff we never know what little intricacies go on.
I will say this, the sports media should do a special on his message.

Hence, why I agree: I wouldn't give a frigging one of them the time of day.

I find that Ignoring the ignorant is the best strategy. Dabo is perfectly capable of defending his ideals. I am certainly capable of defending him but I let the results do the talking. How many teams have the success Clemson has had the last 10 years ??

Dabo was coaching the coaches and players very hard last night, you could tell this win was a statement he wanted to make.
