Dabo may be the BEST

There is no other HC I would trade Dabo for. Through last year, his staff has been great. He lost his OC to UVA and his DC to Oklahoma - HC jobs. He promoted from within. Yeah, you may want to second-guess his choices, but what do you know? We have lost 2 games - TWO GAMES! If there are changes to be made, Dabo will make 'em. Keep the faith, and cut out this negative crap!

If you cant see that this program has been on a downward trajectory for the last 4 years then you're just willfully ignoring reality.

The reality is...... Lawrence was a better QB than DJ. No one would deny that. DJ isn’t what the “fans”:want. No one would deny that. Fans however, DO NOT have any say so in how the team is coached.... and they never will. Anyone can be a fan. It takes a very special guy to get behind the team and truly support them through tough times. I’m one of those guys and I’m truly sorry than you “fans” lack that devotion to Clemson University. But, why should you?

Now we’re counting a loss in a national championship game to a team currently under NCAA investigation for cheating as evidence of decline?
Deer lort.

Why would you promote from within

someone from a failing offense? I can kinda get Goodwin since the D was great last year and you wanna keep what Venables did going. But Streeter? A mediocre at best QB coach? If he can't develop quarterbacks, how can he be an effective OC? David should have done a national coaching search. Change my mind!

Please post statistics supporting your claim that TL and DW…

did not develop or improve under Streeter. I think those stats would help hammer home your point.

I’m not IRONCAT68, but Deshaun regressed over his 3 years at Clemson

if you look at his completion percentage, QB rating, and interceptions.
Completion percentage decreased each year, QB rating decreased each year, and interceptions went up each year.

More interesting stats for DW…

Check out our strength of schedule each year. Conveniently, you left off the fact that his total passing yards increased every year, as did his number of TDs, while his completion percentage only dropped 0.9%, despite this huge jump in competition.
Clemson strength of schedule rank: 2014: #28 2015: #1 2016: #3
Watson’s passing stats per season: 2014: 1466 yards, 67.9%, 14 TDs, 2 INTs 2015: 4109 yards, 67.8%, 35 TDs, 13 INTs 2016: 4593 yards, 67.0%, 41 TDs, 17 INTs
Add to that a NC appearance in 2015 and a NC victory in 2016, but Streeter failed him.
Shall we discuss TL?

FACTS. The rest of us are getting sick of these mentally stunted rednecks complaining about Dabo. They can go kick rocks.
What a time to be a Tiger!

Do you feel that Dabo has earned his $10.5 million salary this year?
Nov 28, 2022, 10:28 PM
|
|
Because I don’t.
I don’t think he earned his salary last yet either.
Winning 10 games is a nice goal for most teams. It was once what we aspired to. But we have invested heavily in the program at a level commensurate with playoff appearances and national championship contention.
We aren’t meeting that standard.
If we are happy winning 10 games and being the best team a weak ACC has to offer then we shouldn’t have spent so much on out-of-this-world facilities nor should we be paying our coaches (including Dabo) so much money.

I tend to disagree about last year … honestly to me it was one of his better coaching jobs of his tenure especially with the offensive issues. I know everyone said it and some didn’t believe it but the NIL/ transfer portal era is not good for Clemson or anyone that misses on a 5* recruit bc there is not gonna be much experienced depth behind that player especially at qb… just is what it is with the landscape of college football… in my honest opinion I think Dabo knows he can coddle dj and get us to two 10 win seasons and that be our “down years” (hence why he’s always talking about the past accomplishments) and move on from dj after this year . I don’t think dj comes back and it will tell a ton how he performs wherever he goes about this offensive staff
