If we would have lost in OT it would have been on him.
39 seconds was plenty of time to get in field goal range with the way DJ was throwing it.

the game for Wake. We were on the 12 or 13 yard line with no timeouts. Probably needed to get 50 yards to get into Potter FG range.

You take the timeouts to see how the punt goes, maybe the snap goes over the punters head, maybe you block the punt, or maybe the punt goes off the side of the punters head. Wake ended up pinning us inside the 15 though.

Bad snap to punter and we would have time to set up fg or off a muffed punt. Dabo played it right to make them punt and right to end the game with our back to the goal line and 50 yard from fg range

If we don't take the last timeout, Wake Forest let's the clock go down to 10 seconds and goes for it on 4th. If they make it they have a field goal try. If not we have a chance for 1 Hail Mary. Their odds would be a lot better than ours at that point.

Wake also had 3 timeouts. If we have a couple of incomplete passes then we might end up punting. Swanson might have had as bad of a game as our DB's. Did you really want the game resting on his foot?

Believe me when I say this; Dabo wants the Clemson football team to win even more than we want to win. That being said, Dabo obviously felt our chances were better in OT than calling a slow developing play to try to win at the end of regulation.

Even taking one shot (assuming it's incomplete) would give WF (who had 2 TO's) the chance to potentially force a punt deep from our end. Too many screwy things can happen there. You keep it on the ground on 1st down and if Shipley breaks one then maybe you start to push it up the field, but if you throw incomplete on 1st down WF can put us in a bad situation.
