Dabo and his coaching

I might be alone on this but I really feel like how the Tigers do this year will go along way in the national perspective of the program. Repeating last year or coming close even would really cement us amount the elite. Dropping 3 games or more would probably open the door for some arguing last year was just a lucky year. If that makes sense.

I agree 100%. While we've had great sucess the last several years, this will be the first year that the football world is giving us the credit and hype we have earned. Also it will be the first full year where we'll have a big target on our backs all year long. Now we need to further cement that elite preception with another 11+win year.

See I disagree.

I think no team had a bigger target on their back last season than us. We held the #1 ranking for nearly the last 7 weeks of the season with us being on "upset alert" nearly 5 weeks of those. I'm not too sure what Dabo and Deshaun have to left to prove to people that as well as being the hunted, we are still the hunters. Clemson dictates their outcome...not anyone else.

You are right, and we saw that in the natty. Clemson pretty well beat Clemson that night, but we never quit. I believe if we'd had a little more time we would have showed the world even more of our greatness. UA was very fortunate that night. Saban knows it, too.

The season will come down to our D and Watson staying healthy. We are already considered a top 5 program though. Everyone knows our recruiting and new facilities too. I think we cemented are spot for a bit last season.

Seems pretty obvious to me that "recruits" already think Clemson is among "the elites." What else matters? We're never going to "win over" the talking heads on the sports networks. Who cares? Their SEC bias is obvious to everyone. We'll have to live with that until the "conference landscape" changes, which probably isn't far away. There will eventually be 4 power conferences with 16 teams each. My suspicion is we will become part of what is now the SEC. Till then, if quality recruits continue to sign on and quality coaching continues to develop their talent, we will remain among the top teams in the nation. I do believe this is our year. I've said that for 3 years. But even if we don't win the natty, Clemson is here to stay. Go Tigers!
