D. Joyner

Dec 12, 2016, 12:07 PM

My son plays for Dutch Fork so got a first hand view of him. He rushed for close I think about 174 yards and passed for about 250 (I think). He did not seem that big but boy DF (who has a good defense) had a hard time getting him to the ground. Not only was he elusive but he often shed the initial contact and created plays.

He threw a great deep ball. Did not throw a lot of underneath stuff but seemed to be fairly accurate. From a mechanics standpoint he did have a sort of side arm delivery and windup which I think could be an issue with tall DLs in college but who knows.

Muscoot was at the game on FD sideline. I know our coaches know what they are doing so total faith in them but hope our small scholarship numbers and holding out for T Lawrence do not cost us because obvious he is special athlete and just reminds you of a Lamar Jackson type player.

yeah I'm afraid he is Columbia bound

Dec 12, 2016, 12:09 PM

Wish we could find a place for him

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't give up on him yet

Dec 12, 2016, 1:11 PM

This one is pretty simple IMO. If we offer him as a QB and he isn't scared away by competition he will be a Tiger. If we don't, well, he will go somewhere else. The coaches seem to be pretty honest with him which is all one can really ask for. I'd hate to hear he he was promised a load of bull just to get him on campus.

Gamed*cks could sign the next Manning/Brady/Newton hybrid and it still wouldn't mean sh*t if they can't recruit the line of scrimmage. They need lineman on both sides of the ball something serious.

Well if he reminds you of Lamar Jackson most of these fans will think he is worthy of a Clemson scholly.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

Because you guys are butt hurt he won the Heisman and he earned it?

Dec 12, 2016, 8:14 PM

Hahaha if you really think LJ earned the Heisman with the inferior talent he played against on top of losing the head to head to Deshaun you really are asinine. Deshaun has his boys in the playoffs back to back years get over your LJ biased bs dude. The voting was completely flawed and Deshaun got screwed two years in a row based on something he has no control over.

Re: Why don't you get LJ tattooed on your nut sack?***

Dec 12, 2016, 10:04 PM

Is it flawed because the voters are not Clemson fans or what? I do not understad. LJ put up better numbers against the same teams DW played so don't act like he only put up number against bad teams. You are ignorant if you cannot open your eyes and see that Lamar Jackson had an amazing year and was deserving of an award. I'm not biased towards Jackson I am just not stupid. I watched him play and I can look at a stat sheet. I wanted DW to win and I thought he had a chance but if you cannot see why people voted for Lamar you are just being ignorant and turning a blind eye.

Stats and remember they list 3 games. One of those games (Kentucky) Jackson himself lost that game on one of his many fumbles. No one is saying he didn't deserve an invite what we are saying is he didn't deserve the win. If the people with actual ballots had waited until the season was over instead of mailing their votes in during September the outcome would have been different.
Voters shouldnt disqualify @DeshaunWatson4 bc of 15 INTs. Jackson w/9 INTs but 7 fumbles, 4 lost (in crucial parts of games). QBR same 4both

I will get over it when you ignorant fans stop acting like he is not deserving. People saying his stats were against inferior teams and that he fumbled and he lost 3 games so he does not deserve the Heisman. The man put up almost 5000 yards and over 50 TDs most of which were against ACC teams. I understand we all wanted DW to win but get your head out of your butt and realize it is okay for the voters to vote Lamar he had an amazing year. I think DW should have won but he didn't and that is okay.

Word on the street with him seems to be that he wants to

Dec 12, 2016, 12:40 PM

play QB in college.

We've told him he can come compete for QB spot but we're recruiting him as an athlete (i.e. we will most likely move you when you get here).

Gamecocks have told him they're recruiting him as QB.

The tea leaves seem to point to him going to Cola out of position preference.

The more I think about it I mentioned him looking like L Jackson because of all the running but he really reminds me of Woody Dantzler. Very similar build. Not sure how there speeds compare, etc.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We will regret not getting him...worth a QB offer IMHO***

There are a lot of qbs a head of him. If,he wants to be a QB then he will go elsewhere. If he really wants to come to Clemson he will.

Regret ? No . We will not regret any one player ...we are currently picking and choosing about 85% of our needs across the roster year in and year out . Unless you've not been paying attention , this Dabo Swinney fella looks like he knows what he's doing in the recruiting game .
