Cuss Words

Mar 2, 2022, 2:59 PM

On average I say about 1 cuss word a week.
As I am a "classic" introverted misanthrope, say very few words in a week. I do write words here on Tnet to keep up my communication skills.

People I normally converse with (like the check out lady at Lowes) do not cuss. My parents did not. Friends I remember (most are dead) seldom did.

I am not offended by cussing these days as it is everywhere (thankfully not on Tnet).
I am amazed at movie and tv actors whose only acting skills are to use foul language in every sentence whether it fits or not. What happened to Hollywood?

What happened? All the talented actors, producers, directors, screen writer, etc are dead and gone. The so called celebrities of today are a bunch of narcissistic DAs who think they are so far above the common man that they feel they should impart their wisdom to us whether it be politics, religion, racism ad nauseum.

our modern day stars cannot act, cannot dance and definitely cannot sing. All they do is scream as loud as they can. That is not singing. If you need pyrotechnics, loud screaming, slithering half naked girls in your act to draw an audience you definitely have no talent.

As for screen writers, all they know how to do is take a classic film and throw in some foul language and sex and ruin an excellent story. Producers and directors do their part by taking the main characters and changing their race, gender or sexuality and think they have a new masterpiece on their hands.

There is no originality in Hollywood today as people are not nearly as creative and smart as they were in days gone by.

In conclusion, Hollywood is also a hotbed of drug abuse. Most in Tinsel Town are stoned out of their minds and thus generally have no idea what they are doing.

From experience I can tell you that lifebuoy is the foulest tasting soap there is. Being a Preacher's kid who joined the Marines, I've experienced it in waves. All of my Drill instructors were fluently bilingual. They spoke English and profanity. I don't hear it as much in the everyday world but I do notice individuals who seem to use it more often than not. I limit my conversations with them.

Cussing is like swinging a hammer.

Anyone can do it, few can do it well, even fewer can do it professionally. But do it in the wrong spot and you will go to prison or worse.

And the best, use the smallest

My dad was Army in the late 60s early 70s for 10yrs, to this day he cusses horrible. The funny thing is, I only heard my mom say 2 cuss words my entire life and both times was when she was rebutting something that had her fired up, and it took a bomb to fire my mom up. I always warned my girlfriends that my dad hasn't realized he isn't around his military buddies yet. It's just unfortunate part of his vocabulary. His parents were not cussers, my grandmother was first generation from Germany so she actually cussed more than my grandfather.

I generally say about 40-50 cuss words a day, mostly

in the office. I have about 200 or so combination that I can pull from, and generally I look for alliterations and a bit of subtext when orchestrating expletives, people are more tolerant if your profanity is staged well.

Vulgarity is the alcohol of the English language- and some get too drunk on it.
