That's exactly what I would've done and what history shows a lot of big underdogs do in the same situation, most famously with Boise in The Fiesta bowl. The longer the game drags on the less of a chance you have. Syracuse is bigger and deeper. Your team is getting more and more tired and got a ill momentum on their side with the td. you have a chance to win it right there. take it!
