Cuse self-punishes...or did it have a choice?

Feb 4, 2015, 5:35 PM

I bet this was not a hard decision since they are finding playing in the ACC tougher this year. Perhaps they wouldn't get very far even if they made it to the NCAA.

"I've been working since I was 15 continually until now. I worked 40 hours a week at 15, when it wasn't even legal for 15 year olds to work that many hours."

Certainly opens another poss slot for ACC at NCAA***

dang... wonder what 30 years and over 3000 athletes cheating will get you?

Can we go ahead and kick them out of the ACC now?***

"I've played multiple sports and would bet any amount that I'm still more athletic than you at this present time...."

They can take Boston College with them....

Feb 4, 2015, 5:53 PM

although I would miss the bi-annual trip to Boston.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

What?!

Feb 4, 2015, 6:07 PM

Hell no, BC is a very strong academic institution and is trying to get back to the football power they were only a few short years ago. And Boston is amazing.

No way I want them gone.

If anything take Wake. We have plenty of NC schools and frankly they haven't belonged from an athletic standpoint in quite some time.

WF would be my choice, too. And add Cinci, maybe.***

The are doing this because they know this season they don't have a chance to win a Championship. The NCAA will prolly allow this to be the only punishment.

In their last game they were lucky to beat Va Tech by 2 at home. Very likely an NIT team this year.

They waited all season to see how the team would do, they realized the team will not get hot.

Notice Syracuse went before the Infractions Committee....

Feb 4, 2015, 5:54 PM

wonder if Swofford accompanied the Orange contingent as he did when his tarholes went before the same group---and he went to plead for mercy on behalf of his alma mater......

How this guy still has his job escapes me.

ACC had a rep at the S.U. infractions sessions last October

Feb 4, 2015, 8:37 PM

according to SU site:

http://www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/index.ssf/2014/10/acc_commissioner_john_swofford_addresses_the_ncaas_investigation_of_syracuse_uni.html

and it appears the ACC sends a representative to every infractions session regarding a conference member

Swofford attended the UNC infractions sessions at the request of UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp

FWIW.. UNC self-imposed penalties for the football issues that arose under Butch Davis, and the NCAA added some

S.U.'s issues supposedly involve football and basketball, but mostly BB
