Crazy seeing "Cade played great" and "He won us the game"

This is no shade on Cade. He did provide us a spark with his energy and enthusiasm and more importantly and he didn't make the critical error which allowed us to win the game. However, we won the game because of the Defense, the OL, the RBs. He really didn't do much. He hasn't shown us anything since the GT game to think that he deserves to start over DJ the next game. It's like people want DJ to fail so badly that they'll shower the next guy with over the top and undeserving praises. Cade will get better and he'll like be the man for the starting job at some point in the next year or 2. But Dabo's right. It ain't right now.

Speaking of Big Dave, I haven’t seen anything about him for awhile. Has he been banned by Dabo or DJ?

the fan preference if things aren’t going perfect.
DJ is clearly the better QB at this point. But we need both to play well.

I agree that we need both QBs to play well. I'm not sure who our best QB is. One has more experience. One seems to see the whole field better and has quick feet.

Not giving the ball to the other team multiple times is a great start for a great QB.

The number 1 stat in terms of who wins a game... is, has, and

always be turnover margin. Passing yards, time of possession, first downs, etc don't mean squat compared to turnovers. DJ had become a turnover machine. He had to go if we were going to have a chance to win the game. Cade didn't do anything spectacular to win the game, but he stopped the bleeding, managed the game, and most importantly... didn't turn the ball over again.

Cade did what he was asked to do…provide a spark and not screw up. He did that and I’m really proud of him. He’s very poised for his age.
People who want him named the starter just don’t understand football.
I do hope he can get more PT moving forward, because we will probably need him again at some point.

Ultimately based on what I have seen, Cade is not quite ready to go win a game with his arm and the passing game. He did a really good job managing the game yesterday and he does bring speed in the run game which is nice. Really needs to get more comfortable staying in the pocket. He gets happy feet.
DJ is the better option at this point, but Streeter needs to stop calling plays like DJ’s legs are a difference maker. Stop the speed option for example. Stop the QB draws.

And Streeter needs to open up the passing game with Klubnik. Neither at this point can win a playoff game.

He had a tremendous impact on the game. The threat of him pulling the read created more room to run for the rbs. That was the entire reason Dabo put him in, either DJ would've had to hit some big plays to loosen up the box or they needed something that would cause Cuse read defenders to not instantly crash in.
So yes Cade had a huge impact, great coaching move. Hopefully DJ gets back into a rhythm and can hit some of those balls he missed yesterday bc the offense can be good especially when he's hot passing.

Exactly. Most did not recognize how Cade pulling it on the zone read and quickly scampering 11 yards set up the following 50 yd run by Shipley. They had to adjust to the threat of Cades legs and Ship made them pay.

With Cade they had to stop what they were doing that was working and adjust to a whole new skill set. That kept us alive and thank G-d we scored those two TD’s. Syracuse had our number yesterday

Maybe you should find another team to pull for. DJ had an off game, the backup was called upon and did what was asked, and we won. Sick of you people so obsessed with DJ you feel you need to degrade the freshman backup. DJ is the starter, Cade is QB2, BOTH play for CLEMSON.

I think that "Maybe you should find another team to pull for," is the type of overreaction that he is talking about. He says that Cade gave us a spark and didn't make a critical error.
Maybe you missed some of the posts proclaiming Klubnik as the second coming of Deshaun Watson and the clearly better QB. The posts faded fairly quickly, but there were plenty of those kneejerk types of reactions, during and shortly after the game.
I would say that Klubnik played great, but it is in respect to the running game. I believe that in most cases DJ is our better option. I hope that he doesn't let this game get into his head and plays more like the DJ from the beginning of the season. However, you can be sure that if DJ's confidence is broken and he starts having problems that there will be people on TigerNet saying "I told you so." They might not be rooting for DJ to fail, but they would take great satisfaction in saying they were right.

It’ll be interesting in the future if the DJ fans decide to follow him after graduation to the Iowa Barnstormer’s of the arena football league or opt to mercilessly stay back and tell everyone in Clemson how Cade lacks the ability to stare down a receiver after 24 starts into his collegiate career

Cade did play great, he did what he was supposed to do. The throw on the 2 point conversion was fantastic... DJ is the QB and now Cade has some real under pressure game experience that will pay dividends down the road. We needed to do something before the wheels fell completely off, was not DJ's day, that was obvious.
Who wants DJ to fail? I hope no legitimate Clemson fan wants DJ to do anything but be a winner, which he is.

Not true. They thought that Cade was the better option. That does not mean that they didn't think that DJ couldn't have won as well. The team needed a spark and Cade gave it to us. Then Dabo opted to go with the hot hand.

The coaches saw exactly what most fans saw ...DJ was not

getting it done on this particular occasion.
I did not see Cade come in and “flash” the way TL did during his freshman year appearances and he’s not permanently displacing DJ based on Saturday.
It was just a matter of getting a change of pace on the field, and it worked.
In the second half, the defense played great and kept Syracuse from making the lead insurmountable.
But, the fact remains that we began scoring the needed points to catch up and then take the lead behind Cade.
DJ will start against Notre Dame and will hopefully get back on track and remain the starter for the next SEVEN games.

Watch DJ's post-game interview and that will tell you how much the team thought of Cade's performance...
