And they also finished 2nd to us for some major guys like Klubnik.
We need Mack Brown to get out of there. That dude can flat out recruit.

It’s unbelievable to me. Terrible terrible football team. Can’t imagine why guys go there. Maybe low expectations and no physical contact at all attracts some of this softer generation.

And an administration that flat out don't give a rip about FB, and as far as the Tar hole admin is concern about FB, if their team finishes 5-7, 6-6, or 7-5 they are completely content with those types of season finishes year, after year. UNC is a basketball first school, and they will never be anything more bc, they are completely happy with being know as a basketball school, and Duke is no different, NC State tries to be both, but I don't think they will ever be really good at both, they should choose one or the other, and be the best they can be with that choice bc, I believe that NC State could be really good if they put most everything into one sport like we do with our FB program!!!

UNC definitely has more cash than we do and they have a well documented institutionalized system that doesn't require players to attend actual classes, so that's two pretty strong Incentives for many HS guys who just want to play football and get paid.

This has to be the case!
They still talk about Mack Brown doing good things(not National things) on his first tour! They still have to lean on Lawrence Taylor and Julius Peppers having played there!
Mostly probably related to the players feeling like they could go to U of Non-Compliance and play sooner than they could at Clemson. At least, that's what they are probably being told.
Trenton Simpson - from NC and played a ton as a Freshman.
Dexter Lawrence - pretty much starter from day one. Or starter minutes. Also, from NC.

have owned him re North Carolina recruits.
We took Shipley right out from under his nose and we also took KJ when he was a top 20 national 5-star DE.
Shaw was pretty much his only big win over Clemson for Tar Heel in-state talent.

They can only play .500 ball for so long before recruits see the light. Also, I suspect that good players for them in the future will portal out to a better program unless they win more.

As the OP eluded to; he needs to get out of there. IF you aren't going to take those players and do something "it's time to hit the door"! Because, it's not doing anything for UNC to have it and not use it. And, it hurts ACC recruiting as a whole honestly when you can't compete OOC or in conference for that matter consistently{even with better players than your opponent}.
Which is true for most in conference games beside Clemson and maybe FSU/Miami.

They have those ###### at ESECPN talking up Mac, and I personally believe they do that mostly to keep the NC talent out of Clemson, and that is directly bc Clemson is the SEC biggest threat year in and year out. ESECPN crew talk up all the ACC coaches and programs more than they will Dabo and his Clemson program. If Clemson is trailing in a game, all those ESCEPN folks talk down about Clemson, and they do it in every sport. They only say good things about Clemson when it's obvious Clemson is doing well, and they rake us across our face when we not doing well. Those ESECPN guys/girls know how to use both sides of the line to make Clemson out to be what we're not, and they are pretty good at bc they have to be, they are more heavily invested in SEC sports than any other conference by a lot!!!

Been saying it all year... what in the world does he sell to these recruits?? I get NIL $ now that that's a thing. Everyone says Dre Bly. I'm old enough to remember him, but do these kids remember him? Do we not have 2-3x as many former players in the NFL? Kudos to him as I guess I would rather see him succeed than Psycho Dave and the LaptopPack.

Those are the dudes Dabo is looking out for in the portal. If a player he recruited that went elsewhere wants to transfer, why wouldn’t he go after them?

He has said several times, "there may come a day when Clemson/he has to; he just hasn't seen the need yet"!
As fans, we see the daily portal entries and panic. But, every year Dabo tells us about players we haven't heard of yet that will make themselves household names. Skalski comes to mind as that's where I first heard the name(from Dabo in an interview about unknown commodities on the roster). He's been right so far and I believe in what he is doing.
I truly believe given the right situation you won't see any hesitation to extend an olive branch to a kid he thinks would be a good fit from the portal! I have no doubt about it in fact!

Dabo is fully aware of every player in the portal, that is why he has Danny Pearman looking in, and evaluating every player entering the portal to see if they could be a help to our FB program, and what would the interest of those players would have at becoming a Clemson Tiger.
Most guys in the portal have no interest in Clemson bc they are trying to get to a place that they'll have a better opportunity to play more, and they better believe in them selves a lot before coming to Clemson and risk being in the same situation they were in where they are leaving.
I think that the only elite player/players that would choose Clemson out of the portal, would be those that left where they were at bc of not getting along with a coach/coaches at the place they're leaving. Then Dabo would want to know why were they not getting along where they were at. And if it was bc the player has issues that Dabo would never bring to Clemson, just as it happens with some out of HS!!! Elite or not, any player that comes to Clemson, they must be submissive to ever part of how runs his program, or they won't fit Dabo's check list of take or leave alone....

I think it had more to do with NIL. NC has already shown they are willing to cheat to win. And unfortunately some recruits were mainly focusing on that NIL money this recruiting cycle.
IMO Dabo as well our culture, character, integrity and priorities will eventually win out over dirty recruiting and the $$$$. Clemson will recover from this past season with so much adversity to become a top team again. I am excited about our future.

Rember - UNC has the 'you don't need to attend classes rule'. Hard to compete against that with a player who just wants to get some college playing time and then move on. UNC's fb graduation rate is considerably lower.
