Could a Clemson/ Georgia playoff or NC game

Jul 4, 2017, 3:50 PM

Be shaping up for 2018 / 19? Don't think so but it seems the only way to put that dog to rest.

Jawja needs to figure out how to win an extremely weak SEC east first.

We will see what both programs are made of this season.
Can CLEMSON stay elite without DW and can UGA get out of mediocrity.
We have just as good a shot to win it all this season as we do in 18 .
With the Talent we have at QB on Campus now I don't see any reason why the Tigers can't continue the run.
I just hope this isn't a repeat of 2014, great D and so much talent on O but don't use it effectively.
Like it or not we wasted a Championship D in 2014.

I was expecting Clemson to be in the playoffs in 2017; but not Georga.

Can Kirby be a good head coach?

Jul 4, 2017, 7:27 PM

Hard to say at this point but after year 1 it doesn't look promising for UGA. He had loads of talent last year and squandered it just as much if not more than his predecessor. It's not like he has a rebuilding job. I'm not impressed so far.

All that talent but didn't have a single all conference player pre season? Let's not be biased here.

Not trying to be biased. Their failure to produce with these recruiting classes is dumbfounding. The fact they have no players selected as all SEC in the preseason only reiterates this fact.

Loads of talent? no.....no he did not. True freshman at QB, no WRs, no Oline. Thank you Mark Richt. Kirby's first two recruiting classes finished 7th and 3rd......2018 is also shaping up as a top ten as well. Let's allow him recruit his personnel before we crucify him. He's been on the job one year.

Like I said, hard to tell about Kirby at this point but so far I'm not impressed. Either you have loads of talent or you and everyone else doesn't know how to evaluate talent. Georgia #3 overall in SEC and #1 in the east the last 5 years in recruiting. 8th nationally. I didn't write this.

Average rank: 8th.
The skinny: The Bulldogs were 11th in 2013; that’s the only time in the past five years they have been outside the top 10. But they haven’t been in the top five. A first-year coach having a top-10 class is rare, but it appears Kirby Smart can do just that.
This year’s class: Currently ranked 7th.

during the same time, Vandy was averaging #44 ranked recruiting class...with a surprise class that ranked #19 one season...without that class they averaged #52...

....but they beat those #8 (average) class at uga.

FYI lack of talent and failure to develop talent are two different things.

Jawja always has a top 10 recruiting class.

Mark Richt was the second best coach in your history.

And you fired him...for that? Enjoy winning 7 games in the weakest division in America.

We don't even have a QB, dude...

A RB playing QB is winning the competition from our highly touted recruits we have on our roster. What does that tell you?

Go Tigers!

???

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nope. But looks like a Clemson vs Miami ACC championship game...

Jul 4, 2017, 9:09 PM

Probably during that 2018 2018 time span. Miami and MR are killing it on the recruiting trial. Which actually benefits us somewhat b/c they compete w FSU for a lot of recruits.

and then reality sets in when they can't even win the SEC Least.....the most weaksauce division in the power 5.

Nobody does less with more than Jawja.
