Kelly Bryant

Dec 5, 2017, 9:25 AM

we've been hearing about how much this time off will benefit Bama with key contributors on their defense having time to get healthy, but I see this as a wash. KB has been phenomenal the last two games, but even in those two and especially in the games dating back to the Syracuse game its obvious KB has been hampered and its slowed down his ability to run. Even on the TD run in the ACCCG when he got to the corner of the endzone untouched, IMO he STILL looked like a slower version of himself that we saw at the beginning of the season. With all this time off to get his legs rested get back to 100% and really disect film I think we are going to see a revamped and dominant KB. Also fair to assume Etienne will have some time to work on fundamentals that might have led to limiting his reps. The more Etienne is on the field, the better.

On the other side of the ball Tre Lamar, Dexter Lawrence, Mark Fields and Chad Smith will all have a chance to be at 100% in time for the trip to NO. But as a result of their injuries their backups have had quality reps and depth shouldnt be an issue vs Bama. I havent heard one national pundit talk about how much Clemson will benefit from this time off, just Bama. But to me, this team has a chance to be at 100% and firing on all cylinders be NYE. Can't wait to see what that looks like.

The Tigers will certainly benefit from the time off to get everyone back and healthy. Win or lose I had rather see Clemson play Alabama again as opposed to Ohio State. Kelly's play will be a big factor in the outcome. I predict time of possession will be critical for the Tigers to defeat Alabama. Tigers by 7 in another thriller.

Time of possession will be our strength due to long, slow...

sustained drives by short passes, hard running which fresh legs, the QB run and a few deep balls mixed in to keep the safeties from sneaking toward the LOS.

I appreciate that but...

that's a distraction which keeps them from looking at the truth about how Clemson and Bama match up. I think that's about all the rat poison they can muster to make it appear Bama has a chance of winning.

I'm not sure what TD run you were watching, but that was right in front of my seats and I was incredibly impressed by his ability to get to the edge and beat the defender to the pylon.

Correct, he was great.

I don't think he's near 100% yet but he's helllonwheels at 90. If and when he gets back to full throtel his deep pass will be as good as it was before the injury.

Exactly. At 90% he's capable of making huge plays with his legs. At 100%, he's just going to make a lot more of them.

I'm also interested to see how they account for Hunter Renfrow in their coverage. Or attempt to account for him. I love watching #13 light up Bama's D every year in the playoffs, but perhaps there might be some opportunities opening up for Mcleod, Cain and Higgins if they have too much riding on stopping the HR.

A slight ankle problem can make a difference in the velocity/trajectory and distance of a long throw to a moving target.

Engineers understand this better than any of us uneducated idiots. Present company excluded, of course.

KB will have to run the ball and be able to take a beating in this game.
I don't think the little screens will work and he will have to take off when nothing is open.

They know that for Bama to have a shot to beat us they will have to be healthy. We could kick Bamas ### with our team just as it is now.
