20 defense (again) like FSU and Alabama we're gonna lose a couple games a year no matter how good the offense may be. Our recruiting has gotten much better over the past few years on the defensive side and Venebles has these guys improving (should be even better next year).

considering we gave up 500 third and longs...

and set the ball up on a short field with a turnover more than once, I can't say this was all on the defense

I'm not really directing this to the USuC game but we did give up 31 to them this year and last year the defense was just pathetic (turnovers killed us this yr, but they had something to do with that too especially when they pulled the ball right out of Tahj's hands).

under Venables the past two years? I think it's pretty dramatic. Our DBs are the weak link now.

Yes, the DBs are mediocre and need to be better but we have a lot of very good young ones...to me, a dominant D is as much fun to watch as a great O and hopefully we're getting there very soon.
