Me too! Seems like I've been pulling for Phil forever. Glad he was the one to break it.

Despite being a lefty myself I always pulled for Tiger. This weekend though I was screaming at the tv for Phil to pull it off. Great weekend of golf and Kiawah represented well and Phil pulled it out!

Technically it was not our (SC)tournament. That would be The RBC Heritage held at Harbour Town links on Hilton Head Island ,usually the week after The Masters. Granted The PGA Championship was played on a SC course( The ocean Course at Kiwiah Island) but the tournament is not a SC event.

Still sinking in. What a great tournament. Been pulling for him for a long time... Was wondering if and when he was going to put 4 rounds together. Even more special that he accomplished history on South Carolina shores.

golfing buddies (and me) used to refer to Phil as "That Chokin' SOB". He did give quite a few away. But, he finally learned to hang tough under the pressure, and that was never more evident than coming down the stretch today. He knew exactly what he HAD to do to win, and other than the ball trickling in the water on that one hole (where he still made bogey), he was clutch when he had to be.
Congratulations, Phil Mickelson, today you are something even Tiger Woods never has been, the oldest major championship winner of all time.
ps, Now, he doesn't even need that special exemption into the US Open that was recently granted him. He gets at least five more cracks at it now, due to this win.

Known on tour by the pros as the most unlikeable player among many. Knew a PGA guy and he said Phil’s nick name was Figjam ( f I’m good just ask me). Tiger on the other hand is extremely well Liked among tour players

guys who generate interest and ratings make money for all the players. almost any top player has a pretty big ego. its part of the tool kit to get you to the top

Phil was very gracious In his victory speech. Also earlier in the day, showed him giving a ball to someone in a wheelchair. To a fan, he seems very likable. Plus the fact that he is 50, I had to pull for him!

The man is in great shape for a 50 year old! The most focused I have ever seen him; cloud waving was a minimum. Great win!
