Far better analysis than I could give.

EJ mentioned it, but I will just add to it saying I think part of his problem was lack of confidence in his receivers. I think he was hesitant to throw it to a receiver who wasn't clearly open.

Hopefully, he and the receivers have spent enough time together in the summer that he does have confidence in them.

As for going through his reads, I heard a pro QB coach say years ago (don't remember who) "Progressions for a QB are simple. Touch down, first down, check down, get down."

In today's game I think it's more of: Touch down, first down, take off and look for your third read.

100% I do want us to get back to having receivers who can go get the ball. I also, and maybe even most importantly want our OL to play like they actually are a good/great OL/ Something that has, way too long, been missing. Get that fixed, and a lot of woes disappear.

Very good analysis, and very good advice, as well. Let's all hope and pray that DJ gets back on track, and I also want our backup QB to get some meaningful playing time, too. I'd like to see a 2 headed monster with our QB's next year.

Agree with E.J. Hopefully he'll turn it around and kick

He will turn nothing around…The quicker some of y’all understand that the staff actually got it wrong here the quicker we can move on…It’s not a wonder every team on our schedule collectively was a problem for DJ…DCs know his weakness and know how to exploit them consistently…He is what he is

Seriously guys, EJ didn't really say much to give us hope

He said DJ has problems deciding what to do when his first option isn't open. Reading the field is fundamental to being a QB so EJ's statement is actually a huge indictment. I'm not willing to make the assumption we'll see huge growth in that department. Some QB's have it and some don't. EJ said it was NOT a physical problem. In other words, it's between the ears. Then EJ goes off the rails and grabs the lamest excuse for failure in all of sports: "pressing" because of huge expectations.

"Pressing" is a very polite way of saying a player just can't get the job done.

Let's face the fact DJ doesn't have the necessary instincts, mental fortitude and accuracy needed to lead this team to a championship. Even if he COULD make a quick decision and switch to his second option, it's cringeworhty how he makes short throws look so difficult.

To use an illustration: There are thousands of guys who can blast the ball off a golf tee on to (or near) the fairway. However, the ones who can't chip and putt don't make the PGA tour.

Without ETN in the backfield scaring the living daylights out of defenses, DJ will face two-deep safeties until he proves he can beat them on 15-play drives.

I'm not trying to be negative, just real. Cade's quick development is our only hope to compete for a championship. If wrong, I will gladly eat crow until my stomach pops.
