Forget the Phishy Phishy here is the straight scoop for the time frames that seem most relevant. I am 71 years old. I do not give a darn that Michigan was winning a lot of games before my father was born. Here are the modern day standings broken down into segments for very old guys like me, people who probably have grandkids, and youngsters who, relatively speaking, just arrived at the table.


1. Since I matriculated in August of 1968, short 53 years ago, Clemson has been the 16th winningest team in America.

2. Since Danny Ford became the Clemson head coach prior to the 1979 season, Clemson has been the 9th winningest team in the the country with a 71% winning record.

3. Since Dabo Swinney became our full time head coach for the 2009 season, we have the 3rd best record in the nation, trailing only Alabama and Ohio State. We've won 82% of our games since Dabo became the official head coach.

Next time you critical wizards out there suggesting all the changes Clemson and Dabo Swinney need to make in order to survive, look back at the numbers. Then count your blessings and spend more time cheering that bitching by a factor of 10 to 1.
