College football jumped the shark with transfer portal

It is now WORSE than the NFL, with players being able to ditch their “contracts”, follow their coach, and play immediately. How convenient that signing day and coaching carousel fall right as the fall semester is closing, so players can enroll in January, go through spring ball, and suit up in the fall. And OK has plenty of room on the roster due to the players that quit after Lincoln Riley left.

You get none of this bump when you hire from within. They are all mercenaries now…coaches and players.

Oh, well…GO TIGERS!

It’s been bad for years in BBall and is now catching up with football. I think you’ll see changes to it soon, and not through the NCAA as that organization is on life support and allowing anything they can to stay relevant, but rather to the power 5 conferences when they split off and create their own entity. We’ll see how fast that occurs though .

Couldn’t agree more. College football as we knew it in the 80’s, 90’s is over. Having quality depth will be a luxury. No kid will want to sit.

the xfer portal can make once power house teams

powers again,heck just take kids off the portal and not recruit.

with all the coaches crazy this year it will be worse than ever.
