Coach Dabo Swinney

Dec 11, 2021, 8:18 PM

I admit I sometimes get frustrated with decisions made in regards to our Football program; however, I truly have no reason to get frustrated. I am no where near as knowledgeable as Coach Swinney or anyone working for the program. My wants and needs are for selfish reasons and are more than likely not what is best for our program. I would like to see outside hires at the Offensive and Defensive coordinator positions; however, I am not as smart as Coach Swinney and I don't know the pulse of our program like he does. Coach Swinney wants to win more than all of us and he is going to make the best decision to be able to win. He is not going to sabotage himself or the program. I would love to see us use the transfer portal, but I am sure Coach has a good reason for not using it right now. Again, he is smarter than me when it comes to this program and football X's and O's so I need to trust the expert. I get frustrated like anyone else; however, I need to learn to trust Coach Swinney. He has done more for our program in the past 10 years than I or anyone could have imagined. Coach Swinney has earned the benefit of the doubt. He is is a success story and a future Hall of Fame Coach. I can do my part by being the best supporter I can be. That is what this program needs right now, great supporters.

We are a top tier program and have a lot of talent returning next year. We may lose some but Coach Swinney is the expert, not me, and I have to learn to trust the expert who has delivered us two National Championships and four National Championship appearances as well as a plethora of major bowl victories and College Football playoff berths.

Being a fan can be tough, sometimes your fandom gets in the way of what is best for all involved. That is okay. It is okay to get frustrated or upset especially when you have been spoiled with the success we have had. However, Coach Swinney is a good man and has a great family and he deserves the benefit of the doubt with every decision he makes until he decides to step away. Also, his lovely wife is such an ambassador for our program. She is what every head coach wants in a wife and she always represents our program well. I am thankful for what we have and how far we have come. I am thankful that Terry Don stuck with Coach Swinney even after that 6-6 season. Terry Don saw something a lot of us did not see.

The best is yet to come folks!

Very few people purposefully self sabotage

Dec 11, 2021, 9:00 PM

But many people do self sabotage by not staying in the safety of wise counsel, leaning on their own understanding and thinking more of themselves than they ought to. Only time reveals the fruit of these internal workings of a man's heart, and I pray that Dabo has not fallen victim to the self sabotage that I am quite sure he does not intend to fall victim to.

With all of the changes that Dabo may have even foreseen and prepared for, he is not above making the same mistakes as any of his peers or those of us in other areas of professional life...

Great post!

Emotionless is the one trait that most serial killers and successfull executives have in common.

Some fans including myself are emotionless during or after games when we want to fire staff because we aren't the ones looking a long time conrad in the eyes and telling them it's time to go.

Dabo is the type of dude to have another job lined up for you before he give you the axe. Coach Swinney is a rare gem and I'm proud to say I witnessed him coach Clemson with my own eyes.

Sometimes pragmatists are mistaken for emotionless people but they really aren't.
Even though pragmatists have a tendency to be swindlers & scam artists, some become loyal fans to team sports and contribute to their success. Fans can help a team.
