Clowney for Heisman? LMFAO
Dec 7, 2012, 3:59 PM
|
|
Did Dan Wetzel really say he was voting for Clowney for Heisman? I just got another link from my Coot friend about it. Apparently the Coots are already giving the Heisman to Clowney next year. Here is the link so you can all have a good laugh
http://www.thepeskypole.net/2012/12/clowney-for-heisman-and-rooting-against.html
Also, there is a link in there about Notre Dame having players that allegedly raped a girl and it was swept under the rug? Any of you guys hear about this? Some ND grad rips into her alma mater about it.

He didn't deserve it this year. Manziel is the best IMO.
Clowney is the best DE and maybe best DL in college football, but not best player this year.

lsu has one-or two- that would argue, t a&m has one, and there are a couple others. clowney is top-5, but i'm not going to sit here and say he's the best in de in the nation. heck, werner, for fsu, is right up there.

He is definitely worthy of heisman talk if...

|

he has a blowout year next season, but it'd take a special circumstance (no real offensive standouts) for him to bring it home. He will, however, win some defensive awards.
As for the ND story, it rings a bell but did not remember the details. That is really sad if its all true and the player went on with his life having to not answer for that. I wonder who the player is, the other girl gives the impression that it is a starter.
As for that Catholic newspaper the ladyu writes for...it is considered a "rag" paper that is very left leaning and is not affiliated with the Church. The routinely publish articles and thoughts in support of things clearly against church teaching.

you must accept all of the Church teachings. The theology is very sound and oppostion is a result of a modern, secular culture.

I know the girl ended up committing suicide after the purported incident but ND people are saying that it wasn't a rape but a 'sexual assault'... IE she got drunk and went to his room and he 'touched' her, she got mad etc etc.....allegedly

That Notre Dame article is troubling!
Dec 8, 2012, 7:13 AM
|

I don't really care that much if Clowney wins the Heisman next year or not. He's a great player. But, if crimes on the level of those being reported at Notre Dame are happening in college football and being swept under the rug, that is shameful. Win at all costs, indeed...

Woodson was also a punt/kick returner and played some receiver.

Clowney isn't even a complete player...

He is a great pass rusher but he is terrible in run defense. If he doesn't improve his run defense, he would be a situational pass rusher in the nfl, or he would have to play olb in a 3-4 defense

He set a school record for tackles for a loss, which would be running plays. He overpursued during the Clemson game, but that was just because he wanted to get after Boyd. Other than that he has been very good against the run. I would agree that he needs to get a bit "thicker".

LSU ran right at him and he was huffing and puffing ….

from the middle of the 2nd qtr until the end of the game. Clemson actually ran twice at Clowney with AE, and both times Clowney had the perfect angle to tackle, yet he was looking at Boyd and AE sped right past at him. Overall Clowney is not a good run defender. He may makes some plays in the run game when it's ran away from him, but when it's run towards him he is terrible at run defense and wears down easily.

Clowney is a better player than any of the people going to New York. This year's heisman is gonna have a winner that isn't even a CFB 'great' . Pretty terrible if you ask me.

This is as ridiculous as people touting Boyd for the Heisman. I hope I am wrong but we are going to see Boyd once again look awful against a great LSU defense
