4 stars: 42
3 stars: 27
2 stars: 1
Top 1000 recruits: 74
Clemson's 2022 roster has
Overall talent: 81.75
5 stars: 12

Do you make jokes about all 20 year olds or just one's that are missing 6 scholly WRs, both starting TEs, 3 of 5 OLs, and RB1 and RB2?

I think -10 is very generous. He is directly responsible for the Uga and Pitt losses with the pick 6’s. And his play all year could have cost the team more than that. 10 years from now people will look back at this team and think what a waste because a QB they depended on was a mental case.

Numbers mean very little or Bama would be undefeated the last 10 years.

I think OL or DL could see some transfers depending on how the post-spring depth chart plays out

I need some explanation on these numbers.
Just from a math standpoint I get that there are currently 2 less players on the '22 roster which will decrease the talent. How much of the almost 8 points does that cover?
The part I don't understand is the difference of 74 top 1000 players to 66 top 1000 players and yet there is only a difference of 1 less 3 star and the same number of 2 star players.
Are player near 1000 overall ranked 1 star?
I would have thought the top 1000 would be mostly 3 star or better with maybe a few 2 star players at the end.

Clemson isn't the only one affected by the portal and won't be the only upper level team who has depth tested this year.
For now, it's what we, and plenty of teams, have to deal with.
Hopefully before the end of the year we have some stricter guidelines in place that make the portal less volatile and more structured so folks jumping around willy nilly can slow down some.

I don't get your math or numbers. We gain two 5 stars, lose three 4 stars and one 3 star. Maybe it's over my head but you need to explain it better. Based on those numbers we lose 2 overall players according to your 2 through 5 star players yet we lose 8 top 1000 players? I have to think that a top 1000 player would be represented in those 2 through 5 star rankings so where are we losing the other 6 at? You telling me there are six 1 star or walk-on top 1000 players? Just don't understand your math nor your numbers.

I just don't get the fear mongering. Clemson did a decent job with everything that went on with this recruiting class. It wasn't much worse than any other year. Clemson has been all over the rankings under Dabo from top 5 to top 20. I mean can we at least wait another year when Clemson and the coaching staff has smoothed itself out before we scream bloody murder? That's why I think a lot of people on this board has been Clemson fans for no longer than 5 or so years. Thats what you get with band wagon guys though.

Y Rank Avg AP finish 22-10=.9011 21-5=.9401 9 15 20-3=.9344 7 3 19-10=.8976 2 18-7=.9345 1 17-16=.9210 4 16-11=.9030 1 15-9=.8912 2 14-16=.8869 15 13-15=.8846 8 12-20=.8903 11 11-10=.8717 22 Clemson played in and won national championships with classes lower rated than this years. In fact, Clemson was better before starting to sign top 5 classes. Your idiotic rating system is hilarious. Clemson has signed 6 classes worse than this one since 2011.

Thanks as always Leon. I know you're just putting numbers up as you always do. Not sure how any Clemson fan could TD the post. The coaches know. Let's just hope that Dabo has identified some talent a la 2011, 12, 13, and 14. Woodaz is one I think was rated lower. As was the CB we inked.
There's no denying we had a bad year compared to previous years. Coaches know they got jammed up and had nothing to do with BV leaving. Good thing is, no transfer has hurt us so far. That said, we had more busts (guys ranked high like Tchio, Lyn J etc that never developed) the last few years than the 4 previous years 13-17.
Thanks for posting again. Need to rock it the next two cycles.

Having less talent is the key to success in the portal era. Dabo is playing chess while the other loses are stuck on checkers.

UGA, Bama, and OSU all develop players as well. They also take from the portal and don't waste nearly as many scholarships on guys that will never play. We're falling behind.
We better have a huge 23 class.
