who has tracked the Clemson players into the portal - then out ?
what are the total results so far - anyone know ???

Only 3 I can think of that were successful are possibly Derion Kendrick, Chez Mellusi, and Zerrick Cooper

Chez Mellusi had a heck of a year. Named starter at Wisconsin (known for RBs) and was working on a 1000 yard season. He had over 800yards rushing for them this year before he got hurt and out for the year. Very proud to see him get success.
DK is still starting for UGA who has one of the top defenses in the country so he must be doing good too
Zerrick Cooper was doing great at Jax but hurt his knee last year and hasn’t really been the same.
Clemson recruits high profile guys. If/when one leaves it’s likely they will have some success because they will be good skill players on any team.

Wisconsin found a stud RB after Mellusi was injured. I can see him hitting the portal again.

Think ladson to Miami is a done deal.
Look at that list. These guys are good. These are some good programs.
Dabo missed the ball on the portal. Plenty of kids would want to play for Clemson. Talking about how bad it is, back in August, didn't help thing.
We might not like it but the ship has sailed. He needs to change the perception that Clemson doesn't want them. He needs to day it 100 times.
Makes me kinda ....... disappointed.

I've said it before and here I go again; Let’s see, 151 wins, .825 win percentage, seven conference championships, two national championships, six playoff appearances, and wins against a lot of coaches that will be in the hall of fame. Until this program collapses entirely; Dabo can say, and do what he wants to, about the portal. Not beating you up for your disappointment, gotta lot of friends that feel the same way, and I tell them the same thing. Dabo is a winner, and he'll do what it takes to win, and it will be done right. Since BV and TE left; I've read that at least ten times and not by Dabo, but by coaches out there, and some with no affiliation to Clemson.

Hopefully we won’t be starting a lot of walk-ons next year due to our lack of recruiting/portal loses with no returns from the portal. It’s a numbers game, too many goesoutta’s compared to the gosintos .. we can’t suit up our cheerleaders (next rung available after the walk-ons).

I'm sure he will consider it, but it will not be a cornucopia. Most kids enter so they can play, so most transfer "down," and we aren't a step down from anywhere. There will be a few good ones here and there, but not a lot.

Chase left for Duke where he was underwhelming, then he landed at App State and had a pretty fine season.
But .... if he’d have stayed at Clemson and become the starter for most of 2021 because DJ was struggling, would he have been just as well off?
Water under the bridge of course, and no one could have predicted that DJ would have the year he had.
Still ... worth pondering?

I don't know but Chase left before this year and continued on
He will have played at 3 schools and will have 2 or 3 degrees I believe.
I'm very happy for him.
No one can answer your proposed question.
It was a weird year.
We are just 2 or 3 plays from being a 1 lose team and in the acc champ game and probly going to the CFP.
we could have beaten GA easy ..
we should have beaten nc st a few times ....
still 9-3
but that is nothing to do with my question -- just how did the portal work out for any of the Clemson players.....

One that was not on the list was Feaster who we all know went to U7C. He had a fair yesr and I don’t know if he is currently on an NFL roster.
As far as the ones who haven’t found a team to go to, I wish them all the luck in finding a place to land.
All of these players were down the depth charts and were wanting to start. Chase didn’t want one more year behind TL13 and I didn’t blame him for wanting to start.
I believe Dabo truly believes he has to use the Portal and is looking but has to fight the NIL for the top talent that comes into the Portal. We will find some for sure but again we are not like other blue bloods who sign any and everyone then have to pull scholarships. Dabo will never do that.
We will find the needed players one way or another and will continue to play at a championship level. Let’s just hope we don’t hit another speed bump with the injuries and all of the other things. It’s I’d very difficult to see players leave but that is the new college football

My results were that they never played for Clemson again and it hurt depth. Scholly to a walk-on and they didn't do much to help.

We play more players than probably any other school from scholarships to walk-on and each of these players want to be the starter. But some are buried on the depth chart and see the new signees coming in and figure they have little to no chance moving to the top. Then there are some who have the talent but may not want to put in the grind to move up. I saw the same thing in the public sector where I had some employees who had little to no drive but thought they should move to the top. Most at Clemson do put in the grind but just cannot reach the top but still have the drive and want their chance like CB.
The Portal can work both ways, in loosing some but we can and will find that diamond in the rough and will want to come to Clemson for the development and to contribute. I will never believe that Dabo will promise a player whether he is a High School Recruit or a Potential Portal Player that he will be the STARTER if he comes to Clemson. Dabo is looking for specific needs not just another player like at Bama and the Dogs.
With all being said, I cannot blame a player who is wanting to start but is buried on the depth chart transferring to the Portal.
