The young man in charge of interviews says they are not allowed to bring the teams in until everyone has finished their Cheez-Its, draws a few chuckles. It's 8:30 on a Sunday. Didn't get the big laughs

Iowa St. OC says the Clemson defense will present a lot of problems, both on front end and backend. Talented players across the board. They present a big challenge

Iowa St. OC Tom Manning says he doesn't expect a lot different out of the Clemson defense but does think they will see some different nuances that the new coaches will have wanted put in. Doesn't expect wholesale changes because of the limited time frame.

Iowa St. TE Chase Allen says Clemson defense reminds him of all the great defenses he has played. OC Tom Manning says Skalski stands out, the corners stand out, really hard to find a time when they don't play really hard. A sign of a great defense.

OC Tom Manning says that when you turn on tape, not every defense plays hard every play but Clemson does. He said that the Tigers have talent across the board (but also mentions Skalski)

DC Jon Heacock says he doesn't see schematic changes for the Clemson offense, but did notice a difference the last few games. He said it looks like they improved and got better and better the last part of the year.

Heacock says the Clemson defensive coaches came to Ames and they visited with Venables. He said they've built a relationship with the Clemson coaches, even with Wes Goodwin. He said it's a professional relationship and he touched base with Brent last week.

Heacock says you have to prep for what you see on tape, thinks there will be a few changes but says because they run a different defense they see schematical changes from week to week. Says he won't "chase too many ghosts" and just go on what they've seen. If you get caught chasing ghosts in a bowl game "it's a long haul"

Streeter says the ISU defense and its odd stack (three safety) defense have veteran players with a lot of experience. They play hard and do a good job of tackling and getting guys on the ground. Somewhat of a newer defense

Streeter says the 3-down, 3 safety look is different and you think pre-snap there are holes, but post-snap the defenders are moving and the holes aren't there.

Mike Reed says it's a no-brainer to stay at Clemson. He and his family love the area. He says he loves his kids (meaning his players) and doesn't want to leave them.

On no opt-outs, Skalski says it's the culture of the program. "We get to play football. We've been on bigger stages but we get a chance to play another game. We love playing ball and we love playing together. Opt-out? That's not a thing."

Goodwin says ISU QB Brock Purdy is talented, plays well in spotlight games. Definitely a challenge and they have their work cut out for them.

Mickey Conn says Wes has taken control and is very confident and has taken control of the players. he has seen a guy that is ready to go. Skalski says it's been cool to see Goodwin do it his own way. He says the LB room can't wait to play hard for Goodwin and he can't wait to play and put on a show.

Has there been any mention of Capehart or any recent updates on him? I know he just got back from the knee not too long ago, but I was hoping to see more of him.

this week, he could be a FR again next year for the 3rd straight year from an eligibility perspective. Will be interesting what the coaches decide if the opportunity presents itself to play him against ISU.
