I think what he has done for his players will be his lasting legacy. The Paw Journey and the emphasis on graduating will help these players for years to come.
You would think in today's "information at your fingertips world" players would be informed about A. the odds of making the NFL. B. the career length of pro football.
In other words, you would think players would know they need a backup plan! I.E. "a formal education from a great school"!
PAW Journey is probably right next to the education my kid would receive at Clemson; if I had a kid good enough to play at the FBS level and at Clemson.
It's diversifying your skill set so to speak! And, not just putting all your eggs in the "I'm going pro basket"! The fact that earning a degree is important to the coaching staff is also a reason "responsible parents or guardians" should be pointing their kids to Clemson over most other schools. The fact that Clemson also competes at the highest level of the sport is icing on the cake.
