About 6 of 10 appear to be 4 star and 4 of 10 were 3 stars.

Clemson received 0 from transfer program during this time period (1 year).

All of these, except for a couple, were buried on the depth charts. They knew they would not get playing time because there were players better than them. That is why they transferred. No need to paint an ugly picture when none is needed.

while maybe there are more talented players in front of them, they push the starters and fill in. When they leave you loose depth and the replacements are less ready. It does effect the team.

Question on Portal

The question I have about this portal when considering departures, regardless of you think they are high quality players or not, is when 10 players leave in the past year and we have no coming in from the portal, are we playing with 10 less scholarship players than other teams?

Not sure how portal works in this regard. If we have lost mid-season: charleston, dukes, dixon and do not pick up any and these scholarship students are still enrolled in the university as students then is that scholarship still being used even though they are not playing games?

Just wondering if we have 10 departures to portal in past year, how many have we not replaced with a scholarship player and thus choosing to go without players compared to the majority of teams. I would not be as concerned about 1-2 scholarships but if we have 10 leaving-how many players are we going short on our roster compared to teams that pickup players in portal?

Most of those players were not expected back next year anyway. So they are already accounted for. The extra year allowed b/c of covid is causing some of this. Exceptions are Boateng and Dukes. For those two, we should have two extra scholarships to give out if we wish.
