Clemson, Coastal, and usuk

Dec 27, 2021, 6:44 PM

Clemson and usuk should scheduled a non conference with coastal every year, that way we got in proof Clemson owns the state. I mean we already know this but man coastal fans swear they would take Clemson down. IMO it’s a great idea, especially with coastal starting to get a little bigger and better.

Easily win this year, we would make their offense look exactly like wakes. They looked great against everyone else but looked absolutely lost against us.

I was on the fence most of the year, too, of what would happen if we ran into Coastal this season.

After thinking about it, I'd say their best chance of winning would have been in September to mid October when we had musical chairs at OLINE and just god awful offense performance game after game.

That said, IDK how the result would have looked because the Blue Beach Chickens seemed like a pretty good team then they dropped 2 Sunbelt conference games: App St (10-4) and Ga State (8-5)

They beat Kansas but the JayHawks finished 2-10 so not exactly a feather in the cap to brag about.

I have two scores that would make sense in different time periods of playing this year.

Sept - Oct: Clemson 20 Coastal 17
Nov - present: Clemson 38 Coastal 14

Ultimately, anything could have happened in the first 2 months of the season (see Ga Tech, BC, Syracuse) so I don't doubt there wasn't a point they had a legit shot of winning.

However, I have much more confidence if Clemson were to play Coastal today, the game would probably be similar to the WF result where the Tigers ground and pound to a solid win

USC vs. Coastal, Winner Advances

Dec 27, 2021, 7:31 PM

Our last regular season game every year should be . We should only play the 2nd best team in the state every year. Let USC, CC, Citadel, Wofford and Presbyterian have a round-robin to see who gets the honor of getting embarrassed at Clemson.

No
Furman
South Carolina State
Charleston Southern
Newberry?

BTW, Clemson would have smoked the Chants this year/last year/whenever! I like CC - don't get me wrong! But, I saw them vs. Louisiana and App St. and have no doubt it would be a laugher!

Clemson has played Coastal at least once right? A couple of years ago maybe?

We beat them in 2009 49-3. Only game played between them

Coastal should never be on our schedule nor

Dec 28, 2021, 12:13 AM

should any FCS team. Coastal Carolina has beaten 1 P5 program in the history of their program. That school is Kansas. As much as I like to see the Chickens fail, they are not on even on the Chickens level in their best years and UofSCs worst, much less be anywhere close to being able to compete against Clemson. Stop buying the hype of watching them compete in the Big South, it’s a joke.

Coastal is nothing more than he flavor of the month. Some years it is Wofford, or Furman or Citadel. Coastal will be an afterthought within several years. No way should we commit to playing them long term. Wish we would play no more than 1 state based FCS team, which is really what Coastal is despite being in the FBS, and then 11 real P5 teama

No need, CCU is a joke with not even comparable athletes and size. We would actually make them look like GT under Paul j. They just run the triple option and defending it is assignment football, they obviously work in more scheduled throws but our corners would eat their lunch, working score a point and would honestly be embarrassing.
