The powers that be honestly believe he will magically rise above his past, and pull Clemson out of basketball mediocrity.

And the answer is unanimous. No one actually believes Brownell will do anymore than what he has done. Occasionally make the tourney and lose to an inferior team in the first round.

Get used to it. Every now and then, we may have a good team, hope for that; but get used to a whole lot of frustration and ugly basketball in between.
