Fair game or classless?
I understand being aggressive by calling a TO and trying to block the punt. But with us having a full set of downs and clearly able to run the clock out(even if a 4th down play was necessary), im conflicted. I like the killer instinct... but with us just taking a knee and there only being a small chance that we would have to end up punting, just seems more ahole than aggressive.

Fair to me to try to win. Strange things happen in games.
Why not use em at the end of the game when we are driving? Doesn’t make sense there.

The cumulative stress to try and mentally effect our team was smart. I thought it was a great move.

Both fair game and classless. It was our coaching mistake to kneel on the ball when they were in a position to force a punt. It was good coaching to exploit it. That does not make it honorable or sportsmanlike. Maybe if they did not coach intentional injury of opposing players I would let it slide.

I guess that was ok but why did he not use his timeouts in the very last series of the game.The Cuse could have had a couple of minutes at the end if he had used them properly and maybe give their D a much needed rest when we were on the goal line. It was obvious that the game would at least end in a tie.

Look, as a coach, you do whatever you can within the rules to help your team win. The only thing I'd find classless about Dino is if he did any less for his players.

Good coaching by Cuse to use their TO's at end of first half.
Bad coaching to not use their TO's when we got into the red zone at the end of the game.

If we hand it off on first down and gain a few yards, or even took a knee, he would have left it alone. Instead we threw it underhanded out of bounds.
Not sure why people are getting hung up on this.

I don't know why the Clemson fanbase has a problem with it. Dino played to win and everyone of us know anything can happen on any given snap. Ball gets fumbled..boom Cuse gets ball.

I mean, it’s not like Syracuse got upset when Dabo went for a TD on fourth and goal right before the end of the half up in the Hot & Loud Dome. Certainly their head football coach, of all people, would understand and respect that decision.

that you could explain a scenario where a first half timeout was classless. They easily could have gotten three points out of that, which would have changed the entire dynamic of the game. Not only fair game, but good coaching.

It was a SMART move by Dino and he was doing his part to try to win the game. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with calling his "Time Outs". Brilliant....He is a class act and a really good coach.
And, YES, I graduated from Clemson in August, 1974.

Fair game. He was wanting one more chance at a punt return because he has one of the best punt returners in the ACC. Don’t blame him one bit

You do realize that Brice was in at QB as the half ended so I can see him wanting to see how he handled the last few snaps of the half. Pretty smart football there. At the end of the game .... not so smart!
