Who is the biggest game changer in our time at Clemson?

Jan 16, 2016, 11:17 AM

Watson is I know what most will say.
But other then him?
Perry? CJ? Sammy? Gains? Danzler?
Nuke? Who else would you say just shocked you with his ability to change games?
GO TIGERS!!

William perry. Michael dean was good. But the frig would change the game

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh the memories of William Perry (and Michael Dean)

Jan 16, 2016, 11:31 AM

I still remember the time that William Perry blocked a punt... by hitting the blocking back so hard that he was lifted off his feet, thrown backwards, and blocked the punt with his back.

Re: Oh the memories of William Perry (and Michael Dean)

Jan 16, 2016, 11:44 AM

Mine was gains Adams, we were once again getting beat down by wake forest, Adams tips the ball to himself and ran it in for the TD. After that play , we dominated.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, that was a great block and a game changer

Jan 16, 2016, 11:46 AM

The part about William Perry's blocked punt was that it was so completely unexpected. Defensive Nose Guards don't block punts!! They didn't even block the players in the middle (just a bump at best) because they thought there was no chance they could reach punter.

CJ.

Jan 16, 2016, 11:28 AM

He, Sammy and Watson have/had similar impact on offense but CJ impacted 2/3 phases of a game (offense + special teams). He literally made you hold your breath every time he got the ball.

CJ Spiller was the patron saint of Clemson Football.

~JKB

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

CJ Spiller- no question- changed the perception and carried the program.

Jan 16, 2016, 11:36 AM

If ever their was a Clemson Moses as a player, it was CJ Spiller.

He commits to Clemson instead of Florida because of Dabo. Then CJ sparkled from day one. He endured bad quarterback play, bad coaching, and coaching changes. He played through injury after injury. His senior year, he was the only reason Clemson won the division and almost won the ACC Championship. He is THE player who showed all the rest what could be done at Clemson. And to our good fortune, he has been a role model alumni.

Oh...also, he was the best player on the field against who ever we were playing that day. Just imagine the 2009 season without CJ...it ain't good.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree.

Jan 16, 2016, 11:51 AM

He single handily carried us the whole 2009 season. And to do what he did on a nagging turf toe injury all season was incredible. I remember reading reports that he wouldn't practice all week until the friday walkthroughs. He's still best player to come through Clemson imo.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sammy. Was the main reason we instantly became a factor

Jan 16, 2016, 11:44 AM

Hard to make an argument opposing CJ. He could bust a run for a TD , a punt , kick off or catch a pass and we all knew , when the first guy missed ,he was gone. It was a beautiful thing.

From changing "Clemson College"" to "Clemson University", to peaceful integration, to suing the Federal gov't over Lake Hartwell plans to overtake half of campus, to the introduction of the Tiger Paw. And many other things in between.

Clemson wouldn't be anywhere close to what it is today without RC.
