How many CU/UGA FB games played in the state of Georgia?

Obviously, Georgia fans love to brag about their record vs Clemson in football, but how often did we have to play them in the state of Georgia?
Per the Winsipedia page, I count 42 games held in either Athens or Augusta GA versus 22 held in Clemson (1 time in Anderson, SC).
Interestingly, UGA has 42 wins - 18 losses and 4 ties
Maybe there is something to home-field advantage

play the Coots at home every year until Big Thursday ended after the 1959 game. We owned a 33-21-3 advantage in those games.
Georgia owns the advantage against us purely because they were the better team most of the time when they won.
The Charlotte game will be very interesting. I believe the Clemson program is light years better than it was in 2014, whilst Georgia is only slightly better. If both teams play to potential, I expect a Clemson win by 10-14 points.
And, no, before any of you rubes asks, I am not betting on the game.

I agree that Clemson is much better than they were in 2014. I'd disagree that UGA is only slightly better. I think the Dawgs get it done 31 - 21.

Maybe there is something to home-field advantage
The series went home-and-home starting with the 1954 game. There have been 17 games played in both Memorial Stadium and Sanford Stadium since then. UGA holds a 23-9-2 lead in those home-and-home games. It's funny you lump the neutral site games in Augusta together with the games in Athens. Augusta was mutually agreed upon by both teams because that was before either Memorial Stadium or Sanford Stadium were built. They could get a larger crowd in Augusta and gate receipts were the main source of revenue then. But of course, all of that was several years before World War One, and we're talking about a whopping 7 games. (Besides, logistically Augusta is on the state line and not much difference in distance form Athens as Clemson). I mean really, THAT's what you want to complain about?!?! And speaking of Memorial Stadium, UGA is 8-7-2 in Memorial Stadium.

Who complained? Looks simply like he pointed out some facts for discussion. You seem to be the sensitive type so I get it.

It actually did sound like an excuse.

It was an excuse. Prepare for "the refs cheated" in all those games for Georgia.

I'd also point out that Clemson was an all-male military school with less than 2,700 students in 1954. UGa's freshmen class was about the same size Clemson's entire enrollment.

I'm not sure how having girls on campus made much of a difference with the football team, but Clemson became Co-Ed in 1955. Since then, UGA has a 22-9-2 record. Besides, back in the day, military schools tended to be pretty good at football so that should have given Clemson an advantage.
And no, UGA did not have a Freshman class that big in 1954 (it was somewhere in the 1200 range, with total enrollment about 4,000)

So you would expect The Citadel football to be on par with UGa?
Nearly the entire corp ended up going to war in WWII. Having to be member of a corp of cadets has an effect on the football program.

UGA has been historically better, which is the affirmation you seem to come on here looking for. And they should be since they are in a larger talent rich state which doesn't matter as much now with recruiting as it did decades ago.
If you want to nitpick, UGA claims 2 national championships. I wondered when the other one was so I looked. In 1942, Ohio State was AP champs and UGA was in some other polls before UPI started a poll.
And to nitpick further, we got punished by the NCAA (and ACC) in the early 80s for recruiting violations (maybe including getting outbid for Herschel by UGA), while UGA got nothing for their improprieties. UGA took it a step further by demoting, then firing Jan Kemp for opposing AD involvement in keeping 9 players eligible during the 1980 championship season when they couldn't pass a remedial English course. She won a lawsuit against the university.
Even more recently, sketchy SEC recruiting seems to fall through the cracks. Remember when UT started self reporting earlier this year possibly to get rid of Pruitt and UGA issues were exposed in the process with the recruitment of Amarius Mims and maybe others? You have to do what it takes to compete right? But let's be civil about it shall we

Not much to debate here. Ga. has pretty much owned us other than the Danny Ford years but I can unequivocally say the last 10 years or so, we have been the superior and most accomplished team. Much happier too??.

Civil?

Not looking for any kind of "affirmation", rather just accuracy and/or clarification. Tigeri was seemingly trying to imply that the main reason UGA leads the series is because Clemson "had" to play in the state of Georgia. I just pointed out we lead the series since it went home & home. Very matter-of-fact, and pretty civil. Then you insinuate we "outbid" you for Herschel, got "nothing for our improprieties", had "sketchy SEC recruiting", etc. You really want to stay "civil"?

We won't count the fact that our players had to be able to read and write whereas the UGA players only criteria was that they were breathing. Not an excuse ..... just a fact.
