Chicken fans try to lie about not going to a BCS game.

Most all the SC fans try and tell us that never going to a BCS game is not a big deal. We all know better than that one. I guess they go every year and have won the last 7 BCS championships.

U R Still losing.....so no u r not back. I would love to see us in a BCS bowl. I don't know who you were talking to....probably no one. You probably just made that up. It is harder to compete with the other SEC teams for BCS consideration (we can only send 2) . Clemson only made it because FSU is playing in the National Championship game. if they weren't, FSU would be the ACC BCS team and Clemson would be in the Chik Fil A Bowl. It is what it is but Missouri, Auburn, Alabama, were ranked above us....and we were ranked above you guys. How you turn this into a proxy "earned bid" is beyond me. You guys are living on proxy wins, proxy losses from us, and now proxy bowl bids. We beat you head to head (5 in a row I think ) and so WE are the better team regardless of the fact the only 2nd BCS team the ACC will get is because the other team is playing in the championship game. Clemson would NOT get an at large so its a gimme.....plain and simple. Enjoy it though....last time it wasn't so pretty.

Yep, USC beat us five in a row. I hate it with every ounce of my being. That said, #### fan, enjoy being one of the ugly sisters. Your sisters from alabama are pretty good looking, but USC is still the ugly stepsister.

Have fun in Orlando

yes, y'all have won 5 in a row. Congrats! But the ACC vs. SEC debate you bring up is stupid. Do you think y'all would have had a better record in the ACC than we did? Also, do you think we wouldn't have had the same success in the SEC that y'all did? The ##### haven't faced the "powerhouses" of the Sec in two years now, and you got beat by UGA (the best team y'all faced until us). You would have done no better in the ACC than we did, and we would have done no worse in the SEC than you did, as a matter of fact, we would have probably done better because we beat UGA and there is no way Tennessee would have beat us.
Enjoy the 5 in a row, y'all have earned that right, but don't act like you'd run the table in the "pathetic" ACC. That's just dumb.

I think our teams are pretty even and would post similar records if conferences were swapped. That doesn't change the fact that we havd missed out on BCS bowls the last two years because of the 2 team per confetence rule. If the bowls could pick who they wanted we would be an at-large and clemson wouldn't.
However, for any gamecock to say it doesn't bother them is absurd. 2 team rule aside, if we stop having one stupid loss per year then we at least go to atl and have a chance to play for a bcs bowl. That rule is not the only thing that has kept us out. Losses to teams we should have beaten have played a part too. That bothers me because I would love to go to a bcs game.

you beat us 5 times in a row in a game that still isnt very close in the overall record.
While you are basking in the glory. We have won 10 games 3 years in a row have a conference title, have won or tied for first in the division twice, and will have been to 2 bcs games. On the other hand here is SC. Big bad sc. You might have won few games but you always find a way to #### the bed and never win anything of any significance on a yearly basis except that one time. And that one time you did win the division you went down to Atlanta and got a whippin of a lifetime from ol Cam Newton.
So say what you want about these things being a gimme but the payout for the schools say otherwise.

and while yall did all that, we were ranked higher than you the whole time.
Being a top-ten SEC school gets us more respect than yall will ever get without winning the ACC. Winning an ACC championship and giving up 70 to the Big East champs doesn't warrant a lot of respect from most cfb fans.
and there's no payday from going to a BCS bowl, the bowl money gets shared pretty evenly amongst the conferences and the SEC has much higher paying bowls.

You can't brag about how good your conference is and then complain when you get stuck with a crappy bowl because of the other good teams. It doesn't work that way.

Yeah the last Orange Bowl wasn't pretty but it wasn't as ugly as the 2010 SEC championship game. Or nearly as bad as 63-17!! Or 45-0!!
Five in a row mean nothing and it gets old when all you guys do is whine about the "tough" competition in the SEC.
There are four or five good teams in the conference. You guys are one of those four or five. Otherwise pretty average or over-rated. Quit complaining about the competition in your conference. You guys chose it.
By the way it wouldn't have been any better for you in the ACC over the last twenty years. You guys lost to FSU just a few years ago pretty bad in a bowl game.
You have ONE conference championship and five straight wins over us. Twenty-three more and you'll catch up. Congratulations and Merry Christmas in the Outback Bowl - again.....

Well that is like when you fall down and get up pouring blood, and your arm is in the wrong position, and you say that didn't hurt. Everybody knows you're lying your A$S off. Coots feel it, not ever going to a BCS bowl. And it really hurts them having to watch their big brother going twice in three years.

Just a reminder that you didn't play auburn, bama, Texas am, or lsu. And you beat Missouri without their starting qb. Yeah you beat Clemson 5 years in a row and you're rewarded by going to your best bowl game ever. Lol Tennessee and Florida are not even bowl teams this year and gamecocks couldn't benefit.

"Clemson playing in BCS bowl has nothing to do with a conference..." hohoheeheehaha! That's a good one! However many BCS bowls are played in, I think the Tiger team and coaches (not some of the excuse-making, deluded fans) know that they are currently not the best football program in their own state.

We have beaten them 4 straight twice in a 10 year period. That didn't make us Tarzan. And their 5 in a row in like never before doesn't make them a Tarzan either. Win your conference and BCS games, and Jane will treat you with a lot more respect... Eight wins in a ten year period still keeps Clemson on top of our in state rivalry. If we was to high light what each of us has done in our history, Clemson would have to use the coots hight lighter b/c our would be empty, and their's would be slightly used.

Is so full of idiocy it almost hurts the internet. I for one couldn't careless where Clemson is going bowling. If you win also so what, if you lose hooray, then I can come read all the train wreck posts and giggle. But no Carolina fan in their right mind cares about where you are and is jealous. Sure we lost to Tennessee but oh well. Sure we beat mizzou and they had a backup, that's no excuse, plenty of teams win with backups. Hell mizzou is more deserving of a bcs than both of us. More wins and won the division. Clemson fans, get over yourselves. You are not the big brother and you are riding the wave of a ###### existence of a conference to make yourselves look better.

The ACC is a #### conference?
Dec 25, 2013, 1:33 AM
[ in reply to This thread ] |
|
Okay, I'll play that game.
In 2013 the ACC has - 1 team in the BCS National Championship - FSU
- 1 team in a BCS Bowl, Orange Bowl - Clemson
- 2013 Heisman Winner - Jameis Winston, FSU
- Taken home more college football awards than every conference combined
- For the first time in NCAA history the ACC swept all major college football awards winning the Heisman, Outland, Lombardi, Nagurski, Bednarik, Davey O'Brien, Walter Camp Player of the Year, Lou Groza, Rimington, Doak Walker, and the Walker Camp Coach of the Year.
- Set an NCAA record for the most teams sent to bowl games in a single season at 11 (Boston College, Clemson, Duke, FSU, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Pitt, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech).
- Tied for first place(shared with the SEC) in the amount of overall All-Americans
- Placed 2nd in amount of unanimous All Americans
- Has a higher graduation rate of football players than any other conference (though the SEC doesn't give 2 sh1ts about what college is REALLY about, which is building educated individuals equipped to have successful futures and be productive citizens).
- Out of the "Power 5" conferences (SEC, ACC, Pac12, Big 10, Big 12) the ACC ranks dead LAST in NCAA violations and crime related incidents. Meaning the ACC is dead last in conferences that cheat the most, averaging 1 major infraction every 12 years. For comparison, the SEC ranks FIRST as the conference with the most extensive NCAA infractions and criminal records, averaging 1 major infraction every year. (My source is CBS sports and the Fulmer Cup statistics)
Meanwhile, in the 2013 the SEC has: - 1 BCS National Championship bound team - Auburn
- 1 BCS bowl bid, Sugar Bowl - Alabama
- Tied at 1st with the ACC in number of All Americans
- Has the champion of the 2013 Fulmer Cup awarded to the University of Alabama (it's their 2nd Fulmer Cup). If you don't already know, the Fulmer Cup is awarded to the team with the most
Soooooo who exactly has the better conference this year? Don't try to play semantics with this one coot, the numbers don't lie.

Please get back with me after the NC game. The ACC has had a great year this fall...it's called an anomaly....very rarely happens. The ACC is and has been a very weak football league, but a great basketball league. Clemson should have jumped ship years ago, but now it's too late.

Bragging about going to a BCS bowl game, when you've gotten your ### handed to you for the past five years in head-to-head competition, is just like the little boy who has gotten beaten to a pulp by his big brother, saying, "Hey! But you know my room is cleaner than yours!" LOL!!
