Chick Fil A still not open for indoor dining

Mar 22, 2021, 1:16 PM

Each CFA i have seen recently is still not open for indoor dining. And I am just wondering, what are they waiting for at this point?

It’s annoying because each CFA creates a traffic jam with the massive drive through lines during rush hours, especially at lunch.

Also it seems a surprising policy for them. I would’ve expected them to be one of the first to be like “come on back! Everything is open!” Maybe they are just content to be a take out place only in the future

It wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve crunched the numbers well enough to realize they turn a greater profit through the drive through versus the traditional setting.

Costs Savings pure and simple....

Mar 22, 2021, 1:52 PM

At some point the gravy train will stop and customers will demand it, but think of the cost savings:

* Less Employees, less pay/benefits
*Savings in utility bills (less water used in bathrooms, electricity in main dining room)
*Supply cost savings (less napkins, condiments, straws, trash bags, cleaners for tables and floors, etc...
*Savings on drink refills, ice, etc....
*Huge savings, I would imagine, on waste disposal. Now all of the indoor waste from diners is taken home

I go once a week and their setup is awesome. I've written a couple appreciation letters. I never wait long. And now they have curbside and deliver.

Actually talked to the manager and she told me from day 1 they did the extreme measures for the employees. One heck of a company to work for... You don't find that much.

She also said they were able to keep everyone employed who wanted to. Awesome Corp.

The chic fili on butler is in the same lot as thre old kmart that shut down so no big deal.
Just pile up cars in the old parking lot.

I know the owner of our local Chick-fil-a and he said if Corporate never made them re-open to indoor dining that be just fine. Sales have been through the roof. In the past a great year was $8 million in revenue last year was over $9 million and expenses (less staff most shifts) is significantly down. Also there delivery business is quickly growing !!

And there lies the problem. Before the pandemic, remember how crowded it was inside a Chick Fil A! The place was a COVID Pod. No way to social distance(if that even works since its aerosol). The place would have to be the size of a Walmart to serve all the customers safely.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I beleive a lot of businesses are using COVID to justify

Mar 22, 2021, 1:43 PM

actions taken for cost savings or efficiency.
McDonalds told me they were no longer serving tomatoes because of Covid. Why??

Disney is no longer running trams from the parking lots and making the guests walk. Why? It is the exact same distancing set-up as all of the rides.

The whole new scan the QR code for a digital menu. That gets on my nerves. Just clean your menus and hand it to me.

The local hospital will allow a husband and one parent attend a natural child birth but only allows one person for a caesarian birth. Why? What is the difference?

Time to open up and get over all of it IMO. After all, the most vulnerable have almost entirely been vaccinated now. The only people who remain at risk are those who will likely successfully fight the virus.

Hence, why I refuse to dine at Chic-fila (plus their food kinda sucks). I had covid a few weeks ago, didn't slow me down one bit. I traveled all the way to Wyoming lol. I still cannot believe the world shut down or something that was no more severe than a sinus infection (my experience). Where would you like me to start?
-The efficacy of masks are not statistically significant based on publications by the CDC?
-The civil liberties that have been removed due government and federal ordinances and emergency mandates
-Covid-19 itself, and the high probability of survival in most all Americans, including cases of the elderly who had not problem with the virus
-The fact that the vaccine has not been clinically tested, and we have no idea of the long-term health effects on the individual

-These are just some jumping off points, I'll be more than happy to expand on them and provide sources once you choose your topic.

Re: 500k+ domestic

Mar 22, 2021, 4:17 PM

2.7 million out of 7.67 billion people in the world. That is but a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things. As I previously mentioned the virus most affects those over 40 years of age, but is only deadly to an even smaller amount of people that have pre-existing medical conditions. The kicker is that masks do not work in any capacity to prevent a person from becoming infected nor transmitting the virus. As referenced by the box themselves (and CDC), cloth or paper masks are NOT statistically significant in preventing the spread of Covid-19. Especially if those masks are double layered, they only aid in reducing overall oxygen to an individual which is detrimental to overall health. I'm not selfish because I don't wear a mask, I'm not selfish because I want things to be normal, I am however sick and tired of being forced to comply with government mandates because the "overlords" believe that they should be the only ones making decisions. Just take a look at Sweden who never shutdown, never tanked their economy, and refused to bend to the will of the mass majority. They are doing just fine.

Did the US "shut down"? Not in my neck of the woods it didn't.

Why have doctors been wearing masks forever if they don't work?

Sweden, no problem? Their death rates are higher than their neighbors. Actually, you might just want to read the news instead of following whatever dumb twitter account you follow. Remember, and maybe they didn't cover this in science for you wherever you got your degree....remember that a lack of restrictions does not mean that people did not use common sense by social distancing and wearing masks. Just in the way that restrictions don't guarantee people to use common sense either.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Same tired stupid argument by clowns like you.

Mar 22, 2021, 4:51 PM

Sweden's death rate was approximately 1.8%, statistically lower than its other surrounding countries and parts of the U.S (New York) where lockdowns were heavily mandated. The proof is in the pudding, masks do not work, lockdowns do not work, actual medical professionals who advocate against shutting down/wearing masks are silenced by social media. It obvious that you are just as brainwashed and are like putty in their hands. But I digress, it it painfully obvious that you would rather waste your life away quarantining and wearing a piece of paper over your face because somebody told you that it was a good idea.

Re: Try telling that to the families....

Mar 22, 2021, 3:28 PM

There are approximately 328.2 million people living in the United States, given death is never a great thing (though it can happen millions of different ways). Even though 524,000 deaths seem like a large number, it equates to a whopping 0.15% of the total population. Once again, death is a terrible thing but numbers are easily misconstrued to push the narrative that the virus is more deadly than it actually is. The numbers are also largely manipulated as many of those deaths occurred in patients with pre-existing conditions (i.e covid did not kill them outright). If you are healthy/even relatively healthy and do not have other severe medical issues then you should be just fine. Once again, I had it and it was similar to a sinus infection for all of three days. The world should have never been shut down and the economy crippled over something so silly.

Posts like this always ignore that over 500,000 people have died in the US with the restrictions you’re complaining about. What would that number have been if life went on as normal? How many people would’ve died from non-COVID health issues due to the hospitals being overrun that otherwise could’ve been saved?

CFA drive thru's have always been crazy busy with or without dining rooms. If anyone knows how to operate a drive thru however it's CFA.

Business at CFA is insane.
I was in Greenwood recently and they have one on each side of the SC25/72 Bypass intersection. They had 5 lines going. Two at one location and 3 at the other location. All 3 were going strong at 2 in the afternoon.

I remember in the 70's and 80's the only way to get CFA was in a southern mall.

I am hearing from more than one CFA employee that they have been told that indoor dining will be opening up in May unless there is a major spike in cases in Pickens County. My source is my daughter and her friends that work at another nearby CFA. The reason for staying closed is safety of employees and trying to avoid negative publicity. Yes it is true that the local Chick Fil A is not suffering by keeping the dining closed.

Whether to open the Chick Fil A dining room is up to the Owner/Operator. One of the Peachtree City, GA CFA’s is open for dining, but two of the others nearby restaurants are still doing drive-through only. I spoke with one of my CFA Corporate friends yesterday and he confirmed the choice is up to the local Operator. CFA Corporate is still closed and pretty much all Corporate staff are still working remotely.
