He is taking advantage of the Covid rule and getting another year to play. Good for him. He had a pretty good year at App St., glad he gets to continue his dream of being a college football player. I always liked that young man, always had a smile and played his part perfectly at Clemson. He might have had a good year this past season if he had stayed at Clemson. But he got to play under Cutcliffe which I am sure was a huge benefit for his game. I wish him luck next season.

I watched him play 3 games this year and he appeared to be a better QB while he was at Clemson. Maybe had better blockers.

Yeah, he is a good dude. One you pull for no matter what. Just caught a couple games this year. I know at Duke, he struggled a bit reading the D. Cutcliff teaches pro style release (caution, I admit I don't know the correct lingo) but throwing guys open instead of waiting to throw once the receivers come open.
DW4 and Trevor both struggled their first year in the NFL with the same thing. So it must be something we're either teaching or not teaching.

Poster above just said he was in Calculus class with Chase. Not a normal class for 90% of football players so he must have some intelligence.
There was no reason for him to stay here behind TLaw another year, had the #1 QB coming in with DJU, then he got into Duke. Not sure how you can say he is not that smart?? Kind of a dumb comment if you ask me?

I worked as a systems Engineer at a big company and only had a degree from
Greenville Tech.I met and worked with a lot of folks who knew Calc and they
had very little common sense.You appear to say that if you know Calc that you
are above the curve. LOL.

The kid got his undergraduate degree at Clemson and graduated in 3 years while playing Clemson football. And is finishing his MBA while playing the game he loves to play as a QB1 for D1 NCAA. I think he’s pretty smart.

He is a pretty well known commodity by now. Don't see how another year at App State could enhance his pro stock much, if any. Maybe he doesn't plan to make a run at the NFL?

Kind of sounds that way. If he has an undergraduate degree and an MBA he is probably going into the business world and will be just fine. Seems like a great kid with his heart and head in the right place who knows he probably won’t play in the NFL and he just wants to play college ball as long as he can. Who could blame him?

I'm a Chase Fan. I don't see him in the NFL but I hope he has a great last year and I'm glad he was a Clemson Tiger.
