The decision is coming soon, on most likely the worst academic Scandal in NCAA history. There will be a lot of press on this. What should the punishment be?

The University cheated the players as well. They were promised an education in return for playing sports, other students at Chapel Hill were cheated as their diploma will always has a mark if they took any African American Studies Courses. Even if not, they are now and will be for a long time laugh at for just a weak institution.

This investigation has been going on for ever, because the NCAA had UNC in a special no touch class.

The players today had no part in any of this. So how do you handle? Do you ban post season and limited scholarships? Feel that only punishes the players.

No this was so institutional in nature, you have to go to the people leading the program, Both academic and the coaches.

Without a doubt, both the present WOMEN's Basketball and Soccer coaches have to be banned from the NCAA. THE ACADEMIC advisors that fled to other schools. They should have a show cause to remain around anything. Associated with the NCAA. Previous Basketball Coaches, like Doherty, should be banned for life from anything associated with the NCAA. He is a coach for the NBA, he should not be let on to watch anything associated with the NCAA except as a fan who buys a tickets, zero special access. Roy Williams has to go as the coach of the Tarheels, yes he may have started the process getting his players out of those classes, but he knew about it and lied to the NCAA and government officials and continues to lie about it. I would even consider giving the death penalty to both the Women Basketball and Soccer program, as the school kept both coaches after several investigations.

On the Academic Side, several Deans have to be fired. They knew about it or should have know about it.

Lastly, All Championships have to be removed from those years, so that the it is never forgotten.

This will punish the institution, that caused all of this.

NCAA, also needs reforms, but this write up is about Chapel Hill.

My hope is the ACC pulls a something out and the State has them leave the conference. Good riddance to bad laundry.

I am continually astounded by how much say about this situation who absolutely know nothing about how the NCAA operates and have never read a NCAA rule book in their life.

Everything you have posted is sooooooooo far from being an accurate interpretation of NCAA rules, that it borders on wishes and dreams and not reality

Finally, do you really want the NCAA deciding which courses taught at Clemson or any other school over the past 20 years are bona fide courses? Do you really want the NCAA deciding if 6 hours for setting up a pee wee basketball court as a Parks and Recreation Major or 12 hours of credit for working at the YMCA is kosher. Of course not.

Nothing is going to happen like you wish simply because the NCAA knows they are overstepping their mission by even looking at course criteria when the course was OPEN TO EVERY SINGLE STUDENT NOT JUST ATHLETES.

And today UNC Chapel Hill is still and will always be one of the Top 10 universities in the country, attracting the best students, the best professors and graduating the top people in their field. It has been proven over and over.

And all that comes from someone with a Master's from Duke University.
