Chad Morris

Oct 13, 2021, 10:31 PM

The music died when he left-he produced 50+ points so that we could win by 5! We are losing serious recruits! People will come me to play fo for Dabo and Venables but what real value do Streater and TO bring!
Bring back the excitement!

By the way, we won 2 National Championships and set probably almost every offensive record since Chad Morris left. He is old news.

Chad Morris was terrible. So glad he is gone.

Chad Morris served his purpose and he never wanted to

stay at Clemson.

And he was not a particularly effective QB coach. People on this very board raves about how Brandon Streeter came in and immediately brought out the best in Cole Stoudt after chad Morris’ “neglect” ...

Chad Morris is where he needs to be.

1.) Chad Morris wasn’t terrible, he was a good strategist that found good wrinkle in a classic offensive scheme.

2.) No, we probably do not need him back at Clemson.

3.) I wouldn’t lose any sleep if this actually happened.

So bizarre to me how much people love/hate Chad. His teams were fun to watch, he rarely made a fool of himself in public and he was an important part of the Clemson ascension. On the other hand, Clemson has won it all twice with out him.

My advice: quit digging up his grave, and it’s not very dignified to spit on it either.

Morris ran too many trick plays. Most of them failed and

became game killing turnovers.

Sure, but you can’t ignore the fact that both of the championships Clemson won were won using the playbook Morris brought with him.

This year is the greatest deviation from his playbook I’ve seen since he left and the productions has not been good.

I liken him to Oliver Purnell... he did some good things,

Oct 14, 2021, 8:30 AM [ in reply to Re: Chad Morris ]

found a gimmick that helped in recruiting and scoring against bad teams..but when we play tough games we lacked toughness and willingness to adjust the game plan.... and we usually lost. Purnell pressed all year and at the end of the year the press beat us when good teams play against us. Morris was too given to spread them out and bubble screen them to death..BAMA woudl have layed us out every time we played them with that scheme. .. They both served great purposes but were not sustainable for success.

Chad Wasn't Good At Developing QB's

Oct 14, 2021, 8:25 AM

Chad had insanely talented NFL ready receivers and Tajh Boyd that could run his offense.

When Tajh graduated was when Chad got exposed. He tried to make Cole Stoudt conform to his offense has the kid just didn't have the chops. To Jeff Scott and Tony Elliot's credit, Cole had his best game ever in the Bowl against Oklahoma when they simplified the offense and called plays that were to Cole's mental and physical strengths.

I think Jeff Scott is the missing link.
