Is this the first year that four, undefeated conference champions make the playoff? I have Sec, Clemson, USC, and B10.

When does the “eye test” criteria start to get debated about endlessly by the talking heads? That’s always nauseating.

It could happen.
With that said.....
There are a lot of games yet to be played and the perceived "who is the better team" debate yet to be unleashed.

USC being good not ideal for 1 loss teams

A one loss USC team likely makes playoff vs most other 1 loss contenders.

to look at strength of schedule, but committee would have pressure to put a one loss Southern Cal team in vs a one loss Clemson team. Just my opinion.

That is why we must win them all, 12-0 regular season record!!! If our offense plays the way they did against Wake, and our defense plays the way they did against NC State, we're 12-0 in the regular season and headed to the playoffs!!!

FPI win out percentages:
Oct 7, 2022, 2:49 PM
|
|
Ohio State - 36.4% Bama - 30.5% Clemson - 20.9% Georgia - 18% Michigan - 7.7% USC - 5.7%
Nobody in the Big XII even has a 1% chance.
So no, it's not going to happen.

Both Sec and B1G will politic like he!! To get two in. To do that half will have a loss. USC makes it only if espin continues their support of them. We win out we will be in. One loss we are out.

That is what I have been thinking about. The SEC Championship may involve two undefeated teams with the loser staying home.

IF IT COMES TO USC AND CLEMSON, IT WILL BE USC, BASED ON TV RATINGS ALONE, AND DON'T BS YOURSELF, THAT MATTERS MOST

the loser of Bama/Georgia MUST get in, if that is their only loss. Five teams for four spots does not work out, unless you use Democratic Party Guvmint deficit spending rulz.

If we have all 5 power conf undefeated champs?
Oct 7, 2022, 5:29 PM
|
|
1. I think no 1 loss team (SEC, BiG10 etc) would get in and leave out undefeated power 5 champ.
2. If all 5 power 5 conf have undefeated champions (very very unlikely, I know but still possible), it will come to 'style' points and all. It would be interesting to see who gets left out. Politicking will be crazy, and could hasten the CFP expansion.

Well, how stylish is it to defeat two top 20 teams back to back, one away, and one at home???

Great question just too early to ask... lots of football left to play... the bigger matchups in the other conferences start in the next couple weeks... every team has had a squeaker so none are immune, Ohio State probably has had the least difficult schedule so far but they have a few teams coming up.
