Pawley's Island This Weekend - What To Do?

Last minute family vacation booked.
I haven't been to PI since I was molested by Gray Man as a child.
What would the Adidass enjoy down there?
I'll probably do some surf fishing, maybe even metal detecting because I can't stand sitting still.
I know the wife will pitch a shitfit if I try to bring the jon boat and play on the inlets.
Any good spots to eat or do stuff?

I ain't much for surf fishing, but we caught some lil sharks 2 weeks ago. It seems most people use shrimp or bloodworms. Nephew had a cast net and caught some small fish we cut up for bait and fished at night.

I packed my one surf rod, a long trolling rod, and a regular spinning combo just for grins. Plan on using live shrimp, maybe some mud minnows if I get on the creek/inlet side, and I hear decent things about those Gulp! new penny shrimp on jig heads. Just something to pass the time.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to use a casting net.
Any advise any of you can throw my way regarding surf fishing would be welcomed (and probably disregarded). Best plan is to just ask the bros at the bait shop nearby.

Pawleys Island Tavern (The PIT)....cool spot under large Oak Trees. Sit outside they usually have a band on weekends. Good food that wont break the bank. Good spot w kids.
Pawleys Island Bakery....as mentioned above. Good stuff
Cafe Piccolo....fantastic Italian but more upscale. Maybe not best w kids.
Hot Fish Club....up in Murrells. Good food good atmosphere on the marsh
Rustic Table, Bistro 217, and Cabana at Litchfield Inn
**depending on your route in you go thru Salters,SC stop at Coopers Country Store. White building on right side. Walk to the back and get a couple pounds of the BBQ. Awesome vinegar based BBQ.

Bring enough chips and bread crumbs so you can share with others around you, they'll want to get close the birds too.
Probably not worth going out to eat unless you have a party of more than 20 people. Just isn't as fun otherwise.
Why would you NOT take your jon boat? I spend 99% of my beach vacations wishing I had a mfing boat with me...You have a small, easily transported one and you're considering leaving it at home? If you end up not taking it and are ever honored for anything, I will take a knee at the ceremony in protest.

The purple is symbolic of my purple Hellcat Charger, the green is for my Hellcat Challenger. I like to have a physical reminder that there's almost 1500 horsepower waiting for me to drunk drive down I-85.

I have a 5 gallon bucket full of stale cereal. The birds will love it.
We're only going there for a few days, and honestly I don't really want to fool with it.
Next year, my inlaws are getting a house at Holden Beach and I'm taking the boat. Take an MFin knee.

Austins on the ground floor of the Litchfield Inn is a good kid friendly lunch spot.

Bisqit - bar food taken to a nice level.
Landolfi's - wood fired pizza - good for lunch.
Quigleys - more bar food and they do brew their own beers.
We are bike riders and there are some good paths from PI all the way to MI, but go to the state park for sure even if you do not have a bike - Atalaya is fun to go to and walk thru.
Golf, golf, golf of course.
Beach - I love going there late afternoon, taking some beer and wine and food and just enjoying the ocean with friends.
