The Tragedy of Trump
May 30, 2018, 1:43 PM
|
|
We are witnessing the death of truth. Trump can make claims about spygate, illigal immigrant voting, Dem. collusion with Russia...etc, etc, etc. And no matter the proof and truth that exists, far too many people will still believe him.
That isn't politics, that's idol worship. Whatever you can say about his policies, many of which have been positive for the country, the man himself has become a blight on what being "American" means.

You just made my point.
Trey Gowdy saw the FBI information and concluded that “President Trump himself in the Comey memos said if anyone connected with my campaign was working with Russia, I want you to investigate it, and it sounds to me like that is exactly what the FBI did,” Gowdy told host Martha MacCallum (on Fox News).
But your post, as I mentioned, betrays your belief that the "informant" was some how a bad thing rather than a legitimate effort to track Russia contacts with Americans associated with the campaign, and the left will howl when one is implanted in Biden's campaign.
That is exactly the false narrative that Trump and his allies spread and the one you appear to buy.

What's the 'true' narrative?
May 30, 2018, 2:13 PM
|
|
The FBI sent an informant back in time to report on the Trump campaign after Trump told Comey to investigate? The DOJ and FBI under Obama used their powers of precognition to plant an informant in the Trump campaign, knowing he'd order Comey to investigate after the election? So they've had this informant in the campaign the entire time, but still needed to appoint a special council to find evidence of collusion or cooperation? And have yet to turn up any evidence of such...which proves...something.
Forget the evidence from the Page and Strozk texts, or the fact that the establishment media has changed the narrative you're parroting as new evidence has emerged (There was no spy...oh #### there was a spy...uh...it was done to protect the Trump campaign, yeah that's it...for now) The establishment narrative makes zero logical sense on it's own face.

Again, you make my point. Never mind the truth, you perpetuate Trump's lies.
"The DOJ and FBI under Obama used their powers of precognition to plant an informant in the Trump campaign, knowing he'd order Comey to investigate after the election? "
The FBI and the DOJ didn't 'plant' anyone. They merely followed up on individuals who had been on the FBI radar all the way back to 2014! The fact that they later became associated with the Trump campaign made them all the more suspicious.
You just keep spouting points that are demonstrably not true, but spout them you continue to do. They're wrong, it's not true, those are not facts!
Facts and truth matters!!

And they found so much evidence. But they cleverly revealed nothing, so they could launch an investigation after Trump won...which has surely found much more evidence. Guess they're keeping that under wraps so they can torpedo the 2020 campaign. Truly a long game.

Again, demonstrably not true, fake and false. They launched the investigation in July of 2016, months before Trump won.
George Popodopolous tells an Australian diplomat that the Russians had "thousands of emails" of Hillary Clinton's. The Australian contacts the FBI.
What else were they supposed to do????

By the way, even as a Trump supporter, aren't you curious about how the Trump campaign new the Russian's had Clinton's emails months before the rest of the country?
Don't you think if that had been a Clinton or an Obama campaign, the FBI would be right to investigate???

In spite if Trump's request that anyone associated with his campaign who did conspire with Russia be found out, the left called for his impeachment and relentlessly accuses him of personally conspiring with Russia.

TIME had a good article a few weeks ago analyzing this. I don't believe Comey is a partisan hack (his actions prove otherwise with Clinton); I think he moreso suffers from incompetency on the job.
He's not really a guy many people would like to label a hero, including me. IMO, his recent book is self-serving.
But he became a martyr due to Trump's imbecilic actions.
Trump probably thinks he's embraced the zen of Sun Tzu, but he has consistently ignored one of great general's most important lesson: Maintain the high ground and never attack your enemy if he/she has the high ground.
He is superb at giving people the high ground when they otherwise wouldn't achieve it. Explanations to this metaphor are available upon request.

We saw just as much with Obama and Clinton as we saw with Trump and Bush.
Either there is a strong human nature to blindly follow someone, or both parties have found a way to convince us to do it.
People who profess to be conservatives are adoring a man who doesn't even fit that definition. People professing to be liberals adored a man who continued many conservative Bush-era policies.

adore Trump but defend the circumstances more so than him as a person. It's difficult for me to defend the guy, but its pretty easy to mock the obvious self righteousness from some in their outright hatred of him simply because he won.
When the comparisons to Hitler start coming out (and it happens a lot in here), then you know the argument has lost its purpose.

Yep, it happens a lot, and I'm one of them. Trump is an authoritarian and has made statements that are very disturbing with a fascist lean. His admin has also attempted some of those early actions.
I'll even cite removing proven, scientific information from government websites, thus stifling information from the public, is akin to book burning.
If people want the comparisons to stop, then he's going to have to stop giving us things that are comparable to some of those actions in history.
For the typical "but Obama" response (not saying you would do that... just beating others to the punch), I also cite Obama's eagerness to overuse the executive order. IMO, honestly, we've seen too much thirst for power by the last four admins.

Now if he starts talking about a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded as the military, that's under the control of the federal government..
I'm going to have to start getting on board with some of this authoritarian stuff...
But it is true that every administration, especially after 911 and the nations complete willingness to turn over unheard of power to the government, has reached for unprecedented executive power.

If you've read my other stuff, you know that I don't believe police are a bunch of evil racists bent on killing black people, and I've been pro-gun rights pretty much all my life. So yeah, you just made assumptions.
I also didn't call Trump Hitler. Hitler is a pretty unique and specific comparison, and Trump certainly hasn't earned that.
What I have called him is a fascist. Trump embraces the ideology.
Hitler was a fascist. Not all fascists are Hitler.

Sorry, that's just dumb. No explanation needed. If you can't see that then your opinion has been bought and paid for. You don't have to know jack #### about the political landscape to see how absurd that is. If you want to compare it to an ideology, fine. But to compare him to THAT individual? You can criticize those who criticize Trump, I get that. But that is far and away different from parroting the demonstrably untrue arguments that Trump has made.
