Canadian Baby Given "Unknown" As A Gender On ID Card

A baby in Canada is believed to be the world's first to be not designated a gender due to a parent's request.
Doty wants Searyl to eventually decide on his/her own gender, and believes that assigning a gender to an infant at birth is a human rights violation.
Per Doty's lawyer, barbara findlay (who does not spell her name with capital letters), British Columbia does not issue birth certificates other than "male" or "female."
Doty is also attempting to adjust the gender on their birth certificate and is part of a lawsuit with others looking to make similar changes.
That baby is going to grow up ridiculed by children and confused by what his parents have done.

I thought all Birth Certificates listed "Sex" not "Gender"

Sex is science-based fact. Gender is a social-based construct. My birth certificate, driver's license, etc list "SEX". Not sure I've ever seen an ID listing "Gender" (must be new).
Scientific evidence (like chromosomes, hormones, genes, male/female organs) is overrated anyways, right?

I'm glad no one has to hide. I've always believe we need to face who or what we are. Realizing that we're just man and not able to fix everything is refreshing, imo.
I would suggest finding out and acknowledging one is a man in a woman's body must be just as joyful. Hiding in the darkness it something we should never do to our self require or expect from another.
When I acknowledge that I was a thief, liar, #### monger, womanizer, low life scum capable of almost any horrible act I could finally allow God to fix me. He's still working on me so you need to watch your backs.

ridicule a non gender person. Kids nowdays learn early that you can make fun of someone's nose or ears or even the size of their heads but you can't make fun of gender, race or any other characteristic which identifies them with a protected group.
The child will be confused. Perhaps one of the parents wanted to have a child of a certain gender. If so this would allow a man to have a son, a wife to have a daughter or any combination of the dominate parent's wishes.
If idle speculation holds real the child may be forced to behave and adapt to it's wrong gender. Kids figure out they are gay everyday. That is a rough way to grow up, hiding true sexuality from parents.
We'll know in a couple decades.
