It's called "AD speak"...

meaning Clemson doesn't want the league office to get its panties in a wad while Clemson (and others) pursue more financially appealing options that more equitably provide for long-term sustained success.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

It means trying to keep the conference together while actively looking for an out for Clemson.

Neff is beginning to sound like a politician. Talks a lot and says nothing of substance.

Lost all respect for him when he set a goal for Brownell...

That wasn't achieved and still said he "viewed it as an accomplishment"

Absent of context this phrase conjures an impression best described as:

Geay AF; but in context it's clearly not directed towards the league office but solely at Clemson fans in an INSULTING attempt at placation. Sadly it reveals a lack of motivation and belief & forecasts little to no strategic planning or anything of substance remotely resembling proactively seeking an exit. If the catch phrase/mantra was aimed in the direction of the league office, it should have strongly hinted that a "scorched earth" policy is our only recourse.
But once again, similar to the CBB situation, as well as the self imposed handicaps regarding NIL, the AD's carefully worded rhetoric has insulated himself from action—

I think it might mean joining with the rest of the conference in pushing for a renegotiation of the current TV deal.

Why would ESPN renegotiate? That happens if Clemson and FSU (plus a couple more, perhaps) add more to the value of an intact ACC than they'd add to the value of the SEC. A combination of a bigger pie from TV and a performance-based division of the pie could generate enough revenue to keep the top programs competitive without cutting the payouts to the rest of the conference.

So, ESPN is going to more than double the current payout?
