Since Q hasn't been posting much about football insights, Clemson FB has gone down in quality, esp on offense.
Coincidence? Maybe he knew we were in for some rough years and just wanted to save his sanity unlike those of us who tune in each week hoping for the best ?

There's quite a few really good x and o posters on this board. Some former Clemson players and/or grad assistant. Hopefully when season dust settle after acc championship, we can have a good film study.
I'll add, Dabo knows but only his staff, Neff and players will... along with the other coaches he brings in during off season to evaluate the program.

Well, Bill, it kind of comes back to that conversation we actually had the other day, when you basically said "I'm worried about Spencer Rattler" and I naively said with brash and callow confidence: "Well, Tennessee is the second-worst passing D in college football and had no pass rush, it's going to be totally different with us! And also, Rattler really has only one serious threat at WR because they have no actual healthy running backs (just a converted TE), and that's Antwane Wells Junior, which one look at the tape would show anybody is who did all the damage to Tennessee, of course we're going to bracket him."
Shows you what I know. Because Wells caught 9 balls for 131 yards and 2 TD's, and you look over and durned if that isn't the Clemson secondary on fire and almost coming to blows on the sideline while Wes Goodwin is looking on with that Rain Man look on his face I'm really coming to not like very much, looking kind of like an unfortunate dude who just recently got accidently connected to a car battery. Not good.
And DJU's performance...phew. In both DJU's and Goodwin's defense, though, they were only the second and third worst performances, the very worst being the man calling the offensive plays, who inexplicably decided it was time to start throwing when we were averaging 6+ yards per rush and had already run for 200+ yards and could have run for 400+, even when it was obvious DJU was having a real bad DJU Done Lost His Mind Again day and wasn't likely to hit the broad side of a barn with even with an autoloading pistol.
(Insert sound byte here in Epic Trailer Guy Voice: "ONLY ONE MAN CAN STOP WILL SHIPLEY'S RAMPAGE OF TERROR...BRANDON STREETER.")
I mean, really?
I would go on...but, you know. You get the idea.
We got some problems, and short of a major staff flush - which Dabo isn't going to do since he does things his own way, which worked for him astoundingly well until it didn't - I suspect it isn't going to get any better for us. And I'll give Dabo full credit: he seemingly avoided the trap a lot of us fall into of turning into his parents. Unfortunately, he seems to have turned into Tommy Bowden.
All I can really say is: it really was an awesome ride for us, and I'm grateful for it. But it's starting to look like it might be over.

Staying in a 2 back set and running down their throats

would have broken SC’s will in the 2nd quarter. But no we had to keep throwing it when our QB was having one of the worst passing days of his career (which is saying a lot given his body of work). I like DJ but it is what it is and continuing to try something that isn’t working and plays to the strength of your opponent’s D is just plain hard headed on the coaches’ part. This one was a real head scratcher for sure. I hope Dabo regains his passion. With love for your program comes the courage to make tough decisions for yourself and the people around you. I love Dabo and want him at Clemson as long as he wants to be here but that hunger, that drive, that passion, the fire in your belly back that made him one of the best coaches to ever coach the game of college football needs to get back into him. I know we don’t always feel those things every day being the humans that we are but those are the same things motivate me to do what I do for a living and I always make it a point to give back more than what I receive.

but you told me/us a lot more than we maybe needed to know (still enlightening & humorous) but now the loss feels more horrible than a One pointer since you're predicting even more grief, possibly.

I think there is only one way we start to see some heads roll on the coaching staff and I don’t really want to see another Orange Bowl vs West Virginia, but unfortunately I think that is what it will take. All I want for Christmas is Jeff Scott to come back and take Grisham’s spot. Then Jeff can be our Wr’s coach and share OC with Streeter.
Go Tigers!!!!…..
