I think Brownell has a few more seasons to turn it around...

But the next time we're in the market for a new head coach, I think it's a pretty safe bet that Will Wade will be one of our top targets.

Brownell's current contract has a $5 million buy out....

Mar 9, 2015, 12:31 PM

He will be Clemson's head coach for the forseeable future unless, of course, he elects to leaves on his own accord.

The contract extension and buyout for Brownell really raises some serious questions about DRad's competency.

Maybe Clemson and Brownell could come to a understanding and mutually part ways. I think the signs are there that Brownell is getting frustrated and maybe it would be in the interest of both Clemson and BB to go in a different direction.

I have 5 Million reasons why that will not happen.

Doesn't mean they can't come to a mutual agreement with terms that are different than what the contract states.

I agree with you regarding coach. The buyout clause has him as the head man at Clemson for at least 2 more years. Maybe longer. Even though I was not in favor of hiring coach, I have always felt like we needed to give him 7~10 years to implement his system. I think that time frame is more than fair given all the Challenges Clemson faces in college basketball. I am not happy with where our program is right now. But I think all need to just bite our tongue and let this play out. You never know, good things can happen!

Regarding our AD, I don't know what to think. I don't believe the Littlejohn update is going to give us any advantages. I am not even sure if is fiscally prudent (will it pay for itself)? The contract extension I think was somewhat necessary for recruiting and to support stability in the program. That said, the large buyout pretty much limits Clemson's options which I don't like. I guess we are just going to have to let this play out for a year or 2.

Go Tigers.

Brad is a great coach, but he will never do much at clemson, few coaches would. The program needs a shot of energy. Clemson needs to decide if they want to shoot for the stars and maybe crash and burn or continue with a respectable product they are used to.
