Brownell cannot be fired or bought out.

To do so would make D-Rad look like the biggest fool in the world for giving him the current contract and buyout provisions.
The only hope for those that would like him gone is because he is such an incredible coach, such an incredible X and O coach, that another school or schools come calling and make him an offer he cannot refuse.

There is pretty much zero chance that Brownell will be fired.
Next year the expectations will be higher, particularly if Blossomgame returns. If he were to go 6-12 next year or something, another story.
But going 10-8 in a strong ACC at Clemson is simply not going to get a guy fired.

I doubt he does fire BB, but when you find out you have cancer, you don't put off treating it just because you just had your knee replaced.
