Kelly seems to have( I don't know the man; just based off what I have seen of him for the meticulous) a huge ego. At LSU he will have access and ability to recruit a much more athletic team.
He is a good coach and knows what he is doing! He will win at LSU pretty quick! He demands perfection and will recruit will. He has those mid-western roots as well he can use!
When he was at Cincinatti I seem to recall he managed to even hit Florida for some good players.

If he wants a National Championship in today's CFB - he had to leave Notre Dame! If this was 1965 or something this would be a foolish move. But, it's not 1965.
