Brent V hires from within the exact same Clemson staff

and everyone screams it’s brilliant.. Dabo hires from within this 2 time National Championship staff and suddenly he’s lost his way SMH. Some of y’all people needs some medication to level out the crazy..
Remember Dabo was hired from within but ran it completely different than Tommy Bowden after taking control

#1. BOTH OC & DC hires by Venables are better than Dabo's pending hires
#2. BV's DC hire really means nothing........it'll be like Saban's DC......it'll be BV's Defense regardless.

Yes, involvement doesn't mean he's capable of leading it. The Starbucks barista I got my coffee is involved in the world's most successful coffee company. Doesn't mean he could be the CEO. I know you and I strongly disagree about Streeter's competence in his current role, but no matter where you stand, you can't argue that they require different skill-sets.

Just so you know Venables and Lebby coaches together at OU. There is history there and Venables knows how he coaches. Coach V is trying to build the same culture at OU that helped build at Clemson.

we don’t know that it won’t be awesome hires.. just your assumption there. You may be right but I’m gonna trust people (and by people I mean Dabo) to do the right thing. No one wants Clemson to succeed More than him.

hopefully Streeter makes some tweaks, makes this offense his own, and paves the way out of TE's shadow.
That's my hope anyway at this point

I trust Streeter to make the "O" his own and will make good decisions. I am hoping that through that process that he makes good decisions and Clemson is rewarded with a return to the prolific offenses that we have seen in the recent past. The only thing that I know is that we have to be better next year offensively than we were this year.
I do know one other thing.... winning the ACC next year and going to the CFP's again will shut up all of the critics!

I believe the 5 star Qb coming in and new OC will be a great combo to get us back on top. Streeter was the OC at Richmond Va and won the National Championship. We may catch lightning in a bottle here (I hope)

Ted Roof is not a better hire than what we do. If Dabo had promoted him to DC you would be crying about it.

Venables and Morris were not hired from within, they were outsiders, and they both were the chief architects of the offense and defense that drove our years of success and consistency. Now, one would hope the coaches under them learned a few things but there isn't a lot of firsthand experience leading from the front. IMHO, riding on the coattails of others is not the real experience we are looking for.

is that Roof actually has DC experience. Does that mean anything? Maybe, maybe not time will tell. Had Dabo came out earlier this week and said "I'm going to move Ted Roof from analyst to DC" I don't think anybody would question it.

Go check those stats out. At App state they shut down UNC and the Coots. They had a good defense. At Vandy the defense wasn't that bad, it was the offense that was lousy.

Totally agree. He probably tried to soak up everything from V but I’ve seen him have miserable defenses at more than one place. Now V will not allow that at OU but it won’t have much to do with Roof.
