They have done what they are supposed to do. If they come out of the weekend series with the Coots still undefeated (or even with 1 loss) things are looking up this season. If they drop 2 out of 3 to the Coots (or worse) the 1st 8 games were a mirage. USuC is down 3 of their top 4 pitchers for the next 2-3 weeks so after we see their ace on Friday night we will likely see youngsters and "Johnny Wholestaff" on Sunday.

Glad to have over 2 guys batting over .300 again, solid weekend rotation. Kinda wish Lee wouldn't use so many pitchers in one game, especially in blowouts and let some guys just rest. Other than, its all you can ask for so far. This weekend should be interesting.

Consistency outside of Grace scares me…We need multiple RH bats to be consistent…Still need to find that one bats that’s going to protect Grice because he’s going to be walked often. I’m hoping Fairey or Hawkins can be that guy…Grice should not leave the 3 hole.
I think so far we have one of the most defensively fundamentally sound team team we’ve had in a long while.
Pitching in my opinion has been outstanding so far. Aside from finding a viable middle of the weak starter, it’s been sound. Mack Anglin has been more than advertised…Clayton and Hoff need to be a little more consistent with their location and they will be right there…
My major concerns is that complimentary bat for Grice and we strike out a ton…Monte has emphasized manufacturing runs more this season via SB, bunting, etc…that I like.

Bats look good so far. Still need cut down on some striking out I’ve seen. But we have done what’s good so far. Always improvements as a coach standpoint. Kinda weak competition…Indiana eh lost a lot but decent sweeep, Hartford well nice for guys to feel good about themselves, cofc and upstate decent. We need to take advantage of sc. feel like for first time in awhile we have the upper hand. But knowing us pressure might get to us. Hope not and I don’t think it will because we have great leaders who are leading more then coaches. Coaches are letting it from ive seen and heard a more team led team. Sc has a nice Friday guy and if they win tmrw well I’m sure they’ll find a diamond in the rough like usually do. Hope not. But I feel like we at least take two. Love three but one game at a time. Gonna be rowdy all three games. Excited to see packers house. I’m not impressed with them. Struggled vs uncg and even all state and I think one game George Washington. They have problems too but it’s gonna be the team that’s calm and takes advantages on the mistakes. I like our grit and our d. Wish more aggressive on bases I hear we have speed. But it could be that just haven’t needed it yet. Hoff and Clayton I hope turn it around. They have been ok. But we need them to eat up more innings bc conference play turns up soon. Big test and we will see. I feel good about this series. I am optimistic and hopeful but I’ve seen a lot of games and especially vs sc and they are gritty and will always battle. Great weather can’t wait for Sunday. No way goin to armpit and listen to roosters crowing and vulgar gestures. Go tigers!
