Lots of insight into the muddy waters of college football.

Many college football fans are likely to pooh pooh the academic angle of the Alliance schools versus the SEC. I don't. The teams in the proposed alliance include 26 of the nations top 75 national universities. The SEC includes only 5 such schools. I am glad that Clemson is among the 75 best schools and I like the company we keep.

First priority is to not allow the SEC to dictate a change that favors them in the College Football Playoff.

Second priority is to make it clear to the TV networks and streaming service that there is more than one entity worth a good bit of money in college football.

Third might be the scheduling of Alliance games. I could easily see Clemson dropping the SC State and UConn type games and picking up better games from the midwest and farwest. (There are good players in California!)

Fourth priority is Notre Dame. Most of Notre Dame's traditional opponents are in the Alliance and not in the deep south and south west.

If the Alliance firms up, the footprint would include the East Coast from Miami to Boston, the West Coast from LA to Seattle and the most populous parts of the middle of the country. That is a big market. Someone is very likely to want to advertise heavily in that size market.

At one time I thought Dabo had said that - he would always play one of the smaller in state schools-because it helped with their budgets- so how do you get around it- I am sure they don't just want a hand out. Just asking

Dabo has suggested multiple times that they should

Be allowed to play those FCS games as exhibitions in lieu of the intrasquad spring game

Love it!

With the way college FB has broken from tradition: "maybe it's time for the no pre-season" to be abolished as well"!

Good answer. A late summer controlled scrimmage could be staged as well to not supplant the spring game. Another option would be to just donate the money based upon higher payouts associated with bigger games.

Perhaps the best explanation I have seen of the: why? How?
Good Job!

This is an ESECPN article, so I would take it with a grain of salt. They probably don't want to see an alliance of all three leagues.
