Bourbon trail

Apr 27, 2022, 9:14 AM

Just a few of the additions I purchased while in Kentucky,Has anyone had a chance to go? Missed out on the Blantons and Weller at Buffalo Trace, but what a fun thing to do.Bourbon everywhere was amazing.Couple of other purchases at liquor stores in and around Town, much better prices and selections than what I see around South Carolina, as expected.

Just moved here (Lexington) from SC a few months ago, can’t wait to do that at some point. And yes the prices and availability of the good stuff is incredible compared to SC, the selection is amazing. I even was able to buy Buffalo Trace at a CVS!

By mix I hope you just mean

Apr 27, 2022, 1:04 PM [ in reply to Re: Bourbon trail ]

a little ice or splash of water... Bourbon is not meant to be "mixed" with anything else, especially Buffalo Trace.

With that said, drink it however you like to.

I like taking a few sips straight, but my acid reflux doesn't care very much for it. So, I mix in a little ginger ale. Just like Elmer T Lee used to.

Headed to Buffalo Trace in a month to do the tour. Been looking forward to it.

Started collecting seriously about a year ago. It's been fun (and frustrating at times) to hunt down some of the more rare & allocated stuff.

Finding is very frustrating, to buy anyway, but I’ve been lucky, have a neighbor, who happens to be a bourbon drinker who has just about anything to try.He splits his time between here and Chicago and has quite a collection.Had some Bookers last night , that was a first.

If you stick with collecting and drinking bourbon for a year. You're going to look back on the things you bought in this post and laugh. Don't feel bad about missing out Weller SR or Blanton's. You can find both at MSRP if you're patient. Greene's in gville had Blanton for 63, Eagle rare for 29 and 1.75 BT 46. Don't over pay be patient . You find eagle rare all day in GA for 40.

If you're still in Ky, check out old Forester and pick up some of the cheap, bottom shelf ky only bottles like old Fitz prime. Google for a list. New riff is another good one to grab in KY that's hard to get here.
