Boston College things to do and where to stay

Jul 29, 2022, 5:55 PM

If one goes up Thursday before the Boston College game what things should we plan on doing/seeing and where to stay. I think we can take mass transit to the game. Thanks.

If you’ve never been to Boston I think the Freedom Trail is a must.

Boston is great road trip. We have stayed at the Marriott Copley and the Hilton in the Financial District. Both are in great locations and near the T so easy to get to game. We enjoyed the bus tour where you get on and off at different locations throughout city. Duck tour is fun too. You need to go to Mike’s Pastry shop in the North End. People are friendly and will help you understand the T and help with directions. Enjoy !

Homie, do you realize what you’re asking. There are literally 1000’s of things to do and places to go, just have to figure it out.

my wife and I do not miss this trip!! Great Italian food in the North End. If you get a chance drive up to Maine (Less than 2 hours) for fantastic lobster. Leaves will also be turning colors. Downtown Boston is very compact and walking is a breeze. Wear your ORANGE and show off our strange southern "talking"!!!

Stay in Back Bay.

Eat in North End.

Walk the Freedom Trail.

Do a Duck Tour.

Take the T to get around.

You’ll have a blast. Fun city to visit.

Yes, the train system is great. One VERY important point though. Be certain that you have your return ticket into Boston BEFORE you go to the game. Long lines after game. Or you can have a pass. Just don’t go into game without your return planned and paid for

My best advice for Boston…

Jul 30, 2022, 5:03 AM

1) don’t rent a car. Find hotel in Boston next to T station and ride T everywhere

2) on game day don’t take the B line to Boston College. Take the D line to Chestnut Hill and exit off to Hammond Street. On Hammond take a right on Stone Ave or Resevoir Ave and it will take you right to the stadium. It’s a little further walk but way less crowded, especially on the way back after the game. I printed off a google map and put in my pocket in case my phone died.

3) we went twice, once was the kids and once without. Without the kids we had a blast with the bars and restaurants. My favorite was the cheers bar, Fenway Park tour, great Italian restaurants.
With the kids our favorite was duck boats US Constituition, Freedom trail, etc.

Beantown Pub. Only place you can drink a cold Sam Adams while looking at a cold Sam Adams
(He’s buried across the street)
