Book's low efficiency in scrambling situations is in part due to throwing the ball away out of bounds. He has shown himself to be very good at prolonging plays and hitting an open man under pressure, so I'm not particularly concerned about that one.

Notre Dame stats that have concerned me the most are passing efficiency on long passes and third-down conversion efficiency. Book has a very poor completion record on passes to the right side of the field over 20 yards. Tends to overthrow longer passes. Also, if Clemson can force Notre Dame into passing situations on third down, that could be a weak spot for it to exploit.

All that said, Notre Dame is a team that does nothing badly (with the exception of kickoffs and kickoff return coverage), does most things very well, and a few things really well. It should be a "small-ball vs. power ball" kind of game.

Seriously. I think I’ll just wait and watch the game.***

Book is not sitting back in the pocket unless we let him

like we did Bently. It's quick passes, because that is the only thing that has worked against us

That seems likely to me as well.

Special teams rating is scary. We are so good everywhere else. Hope Dabo and team have worked out the problems. Go tigers!

Ours is pretty bad too, though. Michigan and Pitt both had a 99-yard TD return on a kickoff. Our guy Doerer can't get the ball into the end zone, and can't kick straight either, unless the other team's best returner is smack in the middle of the field. :)
