Blocked Punt

Would someone please comment on what happened? It looked to me like our blocker just
moved over to block a “ghost” and the ND guy had a clear path.

which appeared to be what the entire team and coaching staff was doing. Seriously, that guy was thinking "he ain't gonna block that, so I'm gonna go on down and try to get a tackle"

Ruke ain't running down to tackle anyone. I can assure of that. To me, the bigger question is why is he even in there? We have good 3rd and 4th year olineman riding the pine. Seems they're used to moving over and picking up a blocker.

He's your 2nd best dline you have. 3 things can happen being in punt blocker duty and 2 of them ain't good. 1, whiff like he did 2, get a busted knee from someone diving after the punt 3, only good thing you get a block.

I can explain it. Total 100% coaching and player execution screw up. First, they had already blocked like 6 kicks this year , so that’s something that needed to be addressed early on in the 2 weeks of practice leading up to this game. Second, someone ( either a coach or player ) decided to spread the formation and leave a gaping hole between the snapper and the right guard!??‍♂️And finally,third, our up backs look totally uninterested in actually blocking anyone rushing or protecting the punter!!! Millions of dollars in coaches and a bunch of 4 and 5 star players and Nobody did their job!!!! Result, blocked punt , easy TD and quick 6 points. I think that covers it.???

I disagree. Hard to say "nobody did their job". ONE guy did not make a key block. ONE guy. Let's stop blaming a whole team and our coaching staff for ONE guy's mistake.

I don’t know the football terminology but, I called it in the stands when they lined up. You could tell something was off.
